Lee Jun Ki is returning with another drama project following the success of Scholar Who Walks The Night as he has recently been confirmed to be the lead of Moon Lovers alongside songstress IU.

Unlike the majority of K-dramas currently airing, SBS‘s Moon Lovers is scheduled to be pre-produced before being broadcast in the second half of the year where it will be simultaneously aired in both Korea and China.

Moon Lovers is the first Korean drama to be adapted from an original Chinese novel, and is based off of Bu Bu Jing Xin. It was also adapted in a Chinese drama titled Scarlet Heart which starred and re-boosted the career of actor Nicky Wu.

Due to the complicated plot, the drama is expected to last as long as 35 episodes.

Other actors confirmed to star in the drama include Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, EXO‘s Baekhyun, Nam Joo Hyuk, Ji Soo, and more. Due to the storyline involving the emperor’s 14 sons, a large cast of flower-boys have been recruited.

Moon Lovers is expected to air in September 2016.

Not only is Verbal Jint a talented rapper, but also he is a skilled producer who revealed he would like to work with IU.

On June 4, during the “Melon TV—Hash tag” corner held through the music site Melon, Verbal Jint has an honest conversation regarding music.

“I would like to have the opportunity to produce IU in the future,” he says. “I would like to help her grow into a strong and steady singer and make great tracks with her.”

Meanwhile, Verbal Jint starred as a guest in the episode of SBS’s “Running Man” aired on June 21. Despite his image as a academic rapper with an impressive background, he was marked as the burden of the team.

Earlier today, both actress Gong Hyo Jin and IU were confirmed to be starring in the KBS 2TV drama 'Producer,' penned by the same writer as 'You Who Came From the Stars.'

Gong Hyo Jin will play the role of a 10-year producer of a music program with an abrasive personality. IU will play a diva-like singer with a cold attitude. The two will play opposite male lead, Cha Tae Hyun who will be taking on the role of a veteran PD from the entertainment department of a broadcast station.

As mentioned before, actor Kim Soo Hyun is also in consideration for a role in this drama, so let's cross our fingers that he'll also be confirmed as well!

Watch out for 'Producer' in April.
