151215 IU Tops Taiwanese K-Pop Chart With New Album

Singer-songwriter IU is enjoying success in Taiwan with her new best-of album “Smash Hits.”

Since its release on December 11, the album has maintained the No.1 spot on the Daily K-Pop Album chart of Taiwan’s leading online music store KKBOX.

Other albums in the Daily Album Top 5 are “She Was Pretty OST,” Super Junior‘s “Special Album Part. 2 Magic,” TWICE‘s “The Story Begins,” and EXO‘s “Sing For You,” respectively, as of December 16.

“Smash Hits” includes many of IU’s most popular and loved songs, such as “Good Day” and “You and I.” The album has a total of 16 tracks.

Meanwhile, the singer is set to hold a fan meeting in Taipei on January 10, and tickets to the event sold out immediately after going on sale. Before heading overseas, she will hold two domestic encore concerts for her latest concert “Chat-Shire” on December 30 and 31.

This is the summary chart for 2014. We have a total of 632 songs that appeared on our weekly Soompi Music Chart. A total of 30 songs hit No. 1 this year. Five artists had two No. 1 songs: Ailee, Girl’s Day, A Pink, BEAST, and SISTAR.
