On November 6, a chart of the top female soloists of 2015 based on sales numbers was uploaded on Instiz.

Baek Ah Yeon from JYP Entertainment tops the list with “Shouldn’t Have.” She released the self-written song back in May, when it achieved a surprise hit at the top of many Korean music charts. Originally she had not intended to do any promotions for the track, but following its high rankings, she performed a few times on music programs. According to the chart, “Shouldn’t Have” achieved 1,277,626 digital download sales so far in 2015.

Right on her heels is IU, who has two songs on the chart. The digital single “Heart,” released for the hit drama “Producer” achieved 1,248,707 digital downloads, only a little behind Baek Ah Yeon. The title track, “Twenty-Three,” off her latest mini-album “Chat-shire” charted at No.6 on the list with 492,953 downloads.

Taking the bronze is Girls’ Generation leader Taeyeon, who made her solo debut this October with “I.” After singing a number of popular OST ballads, she surprised listeners with slightly different genres for her debut mini-album of the same name. “I” achieved a total of 673,942 digital downloads.

Sitting in the middle of the list are Park Bo Ram and Ga In. The former “Superstar K2” contestant achieved 624,465 digital downloads with the song “CELEPRETTY,” while the Brown Eyed Girls’ member achieved 512,776 downloads with “Apple,” featuring Jay Park.

SM Entertainment’s veteran artist BoA proved herself the queen of K-pop once again as she celebrated the 15th anniversary since her debut and released her first album, “Kiss My Lips,” in two years. The pre-release track “Who Are You” featured labelmate EXO’s Sehun in the music video, and achieved 466,047 digital downloads.

Other artists include vocal powerhouse Ailee, who released another fierce track for her comeback this year, as well as her first full-length album. “Mind Your Own Business” achieved a total of 391,114 digital downloads. HyunA made her solo comeback this summer with “Because I’m the Best.” The self-confident track, featuring Cube Entertainment labelmate Jung Ilhoon of BTOB, achieved a total of 386,384 digital downloads. Finally, Minah of Girl’s Day made her solo debut in March with “I’m a Woman Too,” achieving a total of 314,618 digital downloads.
