In light of accusations of plagiarism regarding the bonus track from IU‘s latest album CHAT-SHIRE, LOEN Entertainment quickly released an official response.

To reassure fans who were worried about the situation, LOEN Entertainment posted a message on IU’s official Facebook page acknowledging the situation and assuring fans that they are currently looking into it. A translation of the post can be found below:

Hello, this is IU’s agency LOEN. We would like to make an official response to the issue at hand with regards to the bonus track ‘Twenty-Three’ in IU’s mini-album [CHAT-SHIRE]. Last weekend after inquiring the producers about the issue at hand, we found that the producer used a voice sample that was in his possession through a previous purchase during the mixing stage.

However, we decided that it is unclear how the producer came to be in possession of the sample, and are currently checking how this voice sample came about after contacting Britney Spears’s agency.

We will attempt to clear this issue as soon as possible, and will let you know what the results are very soon.

We are sorry that we worried fans by not being thorough in our album making process, and would like to thank and apologize fans of Britney for discovering and bringing up an issue that we ourselves have missed.

IU also solidifies her position to win the top female artist in the upcoming year end awards. Congratulations to IU.

There are three new songs in the top 10 this week. Just below the No. 1 song is VIXX’s “Chained...
