Itachi will always be my fav character... because he had the kindest heart, was selfless to the very end, extremely powerful and skilled to the point that he had Sasuke convinced he was trying to kill him while still holding back so he did not kill Sasuke, and because Itachi was a hero no one ever knew about.
In addition to what madening_mahem said, I also think of Itachi as a person I'd really like to get to know better. I admire and respect him, and it'd be a lie to say I wouldn't like him more than just a friend..

Plus, I think we all could agree he's the best older brother anyone (well..Sasuke) could ever wish for. Sometimes, I even feel bad for not being more like him when it comes to my own younger siblings; I'm such a shitty big-sis, seriously. :p
Well...he's the ultimate image of self sacrifice, doing so much for Konoha and Sasuke. He's admirable, even being an anime character. And he's pretty damn hawt, too. ;)
fangirls, fangirls, I'm pretty sure there's enough of him to go around I'm sure. And I mean every body has a right to their own fanfiction, just be careful because there will be others who feel the same way about the character.
I think that he was a good brother to Sasuke and a great member of the Akatsuki. althought i don't think he was the pride of the uchiha clan haha sorry
