pixel rpg trouleshooting

i'm going to take a shot in the dark, maybe there is someone here who'll be able to help

okay so the music in both wadanohara and the gray garden recently stopped working on my laptop? i tried re-extracting the zip files and redownloading the games but it didn't change anything so i'm assuming it's some sort of incompatibility with the laptop.. BUT it was working fine on the same laptop before, this just happened at random? this isn't happening for any of my other games, and the sound effects on the two respective games are still working. i haven't installed anything or generally made any changes like that recently at all, do you have any idea what i should do?
