Hey everyone! So I had this story flowing through my mind for a while and I thought I should write it down. It is maybe a little different from other huli fics as it is a little more Hu than Li ;)
Disclaimer (think i need one this time;)):
I don't mean to offend anyone with this story, I don't know Hugh or Lisa personally and this is complete fiction.

Someone put a lock on this old door
It's been beaten up and used and more
It's been kicked a hundred thousand times
It's keeping all the memories behind
He was sitting on a bench watching the ocean. So much had changed, even he had. Sometimes he would read over an interview that he just gave and not recognize the lines at all. Not because a journalist changed them, but because he couldn’t believe that the man who said that was really him. He didn’t change for worse though, if anything his life had gotten better. He was happier now than he had been ever before, maybe that was why this day got to him more than it had in other years, the contrast was bigger.
He looked at his cell phone, thirty-seven missed calls, all of them from his bosses, either David or Katie or the current director. He had wanted to go to work today, but something had taken a hold of him and drove him to the bench close to the ocean. Then he saw he also had a text message, ‘Take your time, just don’t beat yourself up to much. We love you, X.’ He smiled, she knew him so well. He texted her back ,‘I love you too.’ He knew it was all he needed to say, she would understand the complete meaning of the message.
Everything had changed over the past twenty years, but the ocean. Right now it seemed it was his only connection with the past…
If you read the lines between the paint
Look beyond the cracks that store away
It's hidden in the windows of the walls
Right behind the eyes that saw it all
It had been exactly 22 years ago on a rainy Thursday afternoon that his mother passed away. They had never come to a complete understanding of each other. Her moods had changed so often that he felt like he didn’t know who his real mother was. Sometimes she would be happy and funny and he had felt loved in those rare moments, but she didn’t like happy and she would always go back and live in a dark place where she could mourn. Then she would be sad and nothing he would do was ever good enough, it had made him feel insecure and unwanted. All of his memories of his mother where hidden behind a door somewhere in his mind, they were waiting for a time in which he would be ready to deal with them…
Given all the facts of circumstance
I did not believe that a romance
Would show itself in all this dark and blue
That's the only place I ever knew
He heard and felt her, his Angel, come closer, but didn’t turn around. He couldn’t look away from the ocean, because he knew that if he would, the last bit of control over his emotions would disappear. She sat down next to him, took his hand in hers and softly stroke her thumb over it. His eyes, which had already been filled with tears, closed and in a matter of seconds the tears were flooding down his face. He buried his head in her embrace and sobbed uncontrollably. She didn’t say anything, she didn’t need to. They understood each other without words. She stroke through his hair and let the warmth of her body comfort him.
You put me outside my safety-zone
Outside all the lines that made my home
To find out that no one really lives
Without giving what it is you give
‘I didn’t even cry at her funeral. I-I just didn’t know what to feel.’ He sighed. ‘I thought I was supposed to cry an miss her, but I-I didn’t… If anything I felt a little relieved. That does make me a horrible person, doesn’t it?’
She remained silent and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
‘My father, he-he was always so good for her. Sometimes I didn’t know how he did that, a lot of the time I didn’t know actually… I just didn’t know how to deal with-with her.’
‘You’re a good man. Sometimes things happen that you wish wouldn’t have happened or happened differently. But if you keep beating yourself up about what happened then, you will never be able to experience what you have right now. It will hold you back from making good memories, from enjoying your life.’
He smiled, he knew she was right, but he didn’t know if he was ready to move on yet. He had buried these memories for so long. He had never really talked about them to Jo, it had been too hard. But now with Lisa, it was somehow easier to talk about them.
‘My mom wouldn’t have liked you, you know that.’ He laughed a little. ‘She wouldn’t understand how so much positivity could be in one person.’
‘I think that as long as you like me I can be okay with that.’ She smiled at him and he kissed her lovingly.
After a few minutes of enjoying each other’s lips they sat down next to each other. Their hands entwined and fingers laced, silently watching the ocean.
‘Where is Melody?’
‘She’s with Robert and his daughter. They drove her with me. Robert said he would take them to that playground, the one close to the restaurant, Annie’s, I believe...’
He turned his head and looked at her with pleading eyes.
‘You want me to get her?’
He nodded.
‘Okay, I’ll be right back then.’ She got up and just started to walk away when he grab her wrist. She turned around and pulled her in his arms.
‘Thank you.’, he whispered and then gave her a passionate kiss.
I've been living underneath my skin
Everything I felt I kept it in
It carried all the words without a sound
It got me, it almost got too loud
Through his life he had been in dark places. There had been times everything had looked so bad he never thought he would get out of it. On top of that he wasn’t much of a talker and didn’t want other people to be affected by his misery. So he sulked in silence. More than once his mood swings had gotten the best of him, there were enough damaged doors and walls on the House-set to proof that. His depression had almost consumed him, but then all this had happened. Somehow everything had fallen in place and he couldn’t help but asked himself ‘Where did I go right?’
In that moment he heard footsteps, he turned around and smiled as he saw his girls coming in his direction…
But now that my arms are holding on
To someone as sacred as a song
To the one who wants to be my own
I have found that blood can come from stones
His daughter was looking up at him with her loving blue eyes. ‘Dah-da,’, she spoke while her tiny hands were reaching for his face. Tears were welling up in his eyes as his baby girl said her first word. Now he knew that after all those years he would finally be able to let go of the memories that had kept a hold of him for so long. Now that he had Lisa and Melody, he would be able to move on from this dark place that he had been restrained to for too long. Now that he loved and felt loved, he promised he would never go back and that he would cherish and protect his girls forever.
A miracle looking in my life
A mirror-ball showing me all these faces
A miracle looking in my life, after all…

OMG i was reading a spoiler for House and then i clicked on another link (which was DS apologising to huddy fans about the sex being fake and all) but then there is this comment from Lisa Edelstein...(flailing already) and it's quoted from the site (i've bolded some of the wording)
It was certainly meaningful to Lisa Edelstein, who didn't hallucinate making out with Hugh Laurie. "Even though it didn't happen for real, I got to shoot that scene -- and I might get to shoot another later on down the road," she said with a laugh. Edelstein then delivered this message to Huddy fans: "Stay with me. Give Huddy time. Don't give up hope."

I wonder if Hugh Laurie feels the same???
*bobs eyebrows*
