Part 6
--
Wilson: Who is he?
(House looked straight at the door and saw Cuddy answer the door with a smile and let the man in.)
Wilson: So what now?
(House looked at Wilson and then back at Cuddy’s house.)
House: I ring her bell.
(House opened the car door and made his way to Cuddy’s house, leaving Wilson in the car to oversee what drama could entail.)
--
(Cuddy was with the mysterious man drinking coffee in her living room—his name was Matthew and Cuddy had met him through the social services.)
Cuddy: I didn’t think you’d call actually.
(She looked away quite timidly before letting out a little laugh under her breath.)
Matthew: So how’s your baby?
Cuddy: She’s is so beautiful and funny and more.
(They both laughed before Matthew joined Cuddy on the sofa.)
Matthew: You look spectacular for a new mom.
Cuddy: Thanks.
(They both smiled and leaned in to each other slightly before they were interrupted by a continuous sound of Cuddy’s doorbell.)
(Cuddy looked down and bit her lip before smiling politely at Matthew.)
Cuddy: I’ll just be a second.
(Cuddy’s smile faded and an annoyed look came across her face as she made her way to the door.)
(House was standing there in his long coat when Cuddy answered the door in a red fitted low cut dress.)
Cuddy: How did I know it would be you.
Cuddy: What are you even doing here?
House: I was driving by and, saw you were entertaining.
(Cuddy kept the door ajar, as House tried his best to peer inside.)
Cuddy: Hang on…Is that?…Is that Wilson?
(House turned around and waved to Wilson who tried his best to hide in an awkward way.)
House: So, you going to invite me in?
Cuddy: Is that a trick question?
(House stood there patiently.)
Cuddy: You know what? Sure! Come on in.
(Cuddy made her way to the living room and forced the smile back on her face as she introduced House to a worried looking Matthew.)
Cuddy: Matthew, this is Greg.
Matthew: Hi.
(Matthew got up and shook his hand.)
House: So, I guess she didn’t mention the threesome; practically begged me to come tonight.
(Matthew nearly choked on his coffee and he immediately put it back down on the coffee table.)
Matthew: Errm…
Cuddy: Don’t worry he’s just being an ass.
(Cuddy gave an annoyed look at House before she sat in one of the armchairs and House sat on the sofa on the opposite side to Matthew.)
Matthew: So…Greg. How do you know Lisa?
(Cuddy quickly interrupted House before he could even think of a clever retort.)
Cuddy: We both work at the hospital.
(Cuddy gave a sort of fake smile.)
Matthew: Oh.
(There was an awkward silence.)
Matthew: You know what? I think I’m going to…take off.
(Matthew stood up and Cuddy walked towards him, with House in between them, still sitting on the sofa.)
Cuddy: You just got here you don’t have to go.
Matthew: I do actually, thanks for the coffee…
Cuddy: Well…maybe we can do it again sometime.
(Cuddy’s face was full of hope.)
Matthew: Greg.
(Matthew gave a slight nod to House before kissing Cuddy on the cheek and leaving her broken. Again, all because of House.)
(The door slammed shut, and Cuddy slumped back in her armchair but as soon as she sat down Emily began to cry.)
Cuddy: Thank you so much!
(Cuddy got up and made her way to Emily’s room to get her back to sleep.)
--
(House felt a slight sense of guilt, and waited patiently for 10 minutes while Cuddy got Emily back to sleep and she came back.)
House: Are you seriously that desperate?
(Cuddy stopped and scoffed at House before sitting down again.)
Cuddy: Desperate? For your information he was the one who asked me for my number.
(House stayed silent and looked at Cuddy whose head was in her hands.)
Cuddy: What was the point in doing this? Why do you go out of your way to make me unhappy?
House: I don’t. I don’t know why I came here.
Cuddy: Can you please…please just go House.
(House hung his head, and then stood up and as he was about to leave Cuddy stood in front of him.)
House: Do you want me to stay or do you want me to go?
(Cuddy stood there her mouth slightly open, speechless.)
Cuddy: House.
(House looked into Cuddy’s eyes and caressed her cheek. Cuddy leaned into his hand closing her eyes before looking back up at House. With that Cuddy and House kissed each other tenderly.)
Cuddy: Thanks for intruding.
(Cuddy spoke in a soft voice, and House replied in the same tone.)
House: No problem.
(Cuddy stepped to the side and House walked on past her and out the door. Wilson watched as House walked towards the car.)
Wilson: Why were you still in there after that guy left?
House: We…talked.
Wilson: Again?
(House looked at Wilson with a serious look on his face.)
Wilson: How long will it be before you two finally have sex.
(Wilson turned the car on and they drove off.)

To be continued.
