House actually "died" for me when Cameron left, when Thirteen was gone then back, then gone, then back etc. And sort of when Chase cut his hair. =P

LaurieLover Okay, hang on, I've watched it twice and I did not see Rachel. How can we even be sure she was in the house? And if she was there, I somehow can't imagine Cuddy having her at the table with the adults drinking coffee. She was most probably in her room. The reason everyone is SO shocked by his behaviour is because HOUSE was not the cool, calm, collected man he always has been. THAT maniac is NOT the man we have come to know and love. BUT as I said we all have a dark side and all that is needed to spark it is the right trigger. He loves her, he wants her back, he is angry, hurting emotionally, he's frustrated, in physical pain and IMO probably hoping for a reconciliation. He kept her brush for a reason; he was using it as an excuse to go to her. Seeing her with another man, even if it is just a friend, is going to fracture his already over stressed mind. He did not want to kill her or anyone else; he is crazy in love with her and Rachel for that matter. This was not domestic violence; it was an irrational over-reaction from a deeply emotionally distressed, man in love. The simple fact is that House for all his bravado is still hopelessly in love with Cuddy. And the depth of that emotion is what makes his irrationality more acceptable, than if it was just out of malice or spite. This was not a terror tactic, or the actions of a weak man using physical violence and intimidation to make himself feel better. Think about it, how many women has he really loved and trusted: Stacy, she went against his wishes and then left him. Cuddy, she was partly responsible for what was done to his leg, she suggested it, and he has had a “thing” for her for years. Finally he gets his hearts desire an all consuming love affair with the woman he adores. A woman he trusts and loves deeply, and she leaves him. But this one he can’t get over, because he has to see her and deal with her daily. Don’t hate him; he is like a wounded animal. And we know how incredibly dangerous they can be. Give him a chance to redeem himself. All this "I am finished with House, I'll never watch again" is a knee jerk reaction. We have no idea what will happen in S8. And just because LE is not there does not mean we should stop supporting Hugh and the rest of the cast.

the_house_gene LaurieLover i agree with 100%!! you're like writing you're opinion without being a drama queen instead of saying you're done with the show because no matter how much the show is disappointing or makes you angry you probably won't be able to resist watching it! i know i won't...

solo1861 LaurieLover : I mostly agree with you but the beach scene disturb me. He is smug in the scene. He don't care about what he did, about loosing her for god, probably loosing his job... And as far as s8 I'll probably watch. Even if right now I don't really want to. But I didn't like s7, I found the writing pretty poor, the cases not so interesting, the witty humor disappeared... Add the loss of Cuddy and there is little reason for me to watch fox on mondays. Just one actually: Hugh. Because I'm curious and I loved House for many years I will probably end up watching it online.

divinem I completely agree with your thoughts, " I can't see anywhere left for this story to go." I love watching HOUSE re-runs on my computer (I have all the seasons). But now I'm having a hard time enjoying them, knowing where it's leading. I wonder if they HAVE to do an 8th season? I think they should just "end scene" with House walking away on a remote beach and call lit a very successful run that has come to its end, because they're is no redemption for his egregious behavior in the finale. Poor Hugh. He's such a fantastic actor and musician. It takes real chops to stay the [kamikaze] course. I am SO bummed. I'd rather see Gregory House die than, as you said, see the show "limp away dying a slow and painful death." I will, of course, watch Season 8 if it comes to fruition, but I am deeply disappointed in how they've gone completely off the rails. I'm so glad I found this forum so I can mourn along with other HOUSE fans. He truly is my favorite TV character. :(
