House M.D. Question

Why does House use his walking stick in his right hand?

You are supposed to use a stick in the opposite hand to the injury - you would think he knew that, being a doctor!

I know Hugh Laurie has talked about it too, but I can't find any links right now.

Basically physiotherapists would encourage using the cane on the opposite side to the injury, but it really comes down to what the individual person feels most comfortable with, particularly if they have long term injuries. Also, it fits with House's character that he'd be more concerned with how it works for him rather than follow a physio's orders.

Crap, forgot the next part! I was going to say something about how he is actually technically correct in which side he uses his cane on because there is some stuff out there about injuries in the upper leg and subsequent knee instability that means that canes are better utilised on the side with the injury, rather than the common belief about using a cane on the side opposite an injury.
