Author's note: Ok...I am slightly pissed atm, because my internet crushed just when I wanted to post the article...
Something very different than my usual stories (which means no character's dying or suffering XD).
It's supposed to be funny and I hope you can laugh at it.
Enjoy ^^
"Do you reallly think we can do it?"
Kutner’s voice broke the silence.
"Well…it is a little too late to reverse now."
Taub answered him quietly.
"Besides that House would do the same."
Foreman added.
"I was just asking…"
Kutner replied intimidated.
Thirteen watched the goings-on amused and with a small smile on her face.
"Guys…I don’t want to interrupt your nice little conversation but I think we should do this before he notices something."
This time all of them were at one with each other.
The three men nodded subtly and continued slashing their way through the dark.
"I wonder why he did not pick up neither his phone nor his cell."
"How long have you been working for him now?"
"Hey I’m not dense! I was just wondering because normally he calls back."
A simple eye rolling was the answer.
"Shhh!"
Silence filled the room again and the ducklings sneaked through it, anxious to not make any noice.
Every creak, every breath, and every step they took made them feel alarmed and the adrenaline running through their vains.
At 7.23 am House’s patient‘s, Ian Fowler, 42 years old, laywer, heart had stopped beating. Reanimation had been successful but the symptom didn’t go with the diagnose, so they had to reconsider the whole thing and needed House’s help and skills.
Was the medicine to blame? The disease?
One of the doctors? Or was it an entirely different reason?
No matter what it was, House had been inaccessibly and had not answered any call.
So the team had started on the way to his apartment where they had arrived a bit later and were now creeping through the darkness.
Taub opened a door and looked around.
The room was gloomy and barely lighted, because the blinds were shut.
A few sun rays cut their way through the gaps, they were the only source of illumination.
Kutner was lost in his thoughts and did not notice a pile of books that was lying on the floor.
The books spread on the floor with a loud bang, followed by a curse and three pairs of eyes that glared at the causer.
"Oops."
All of a sudden all of them went completely silent after they heard a sound.
They stood in awe, afraid that they might get caught.
No one of them knew how he would react, they just knew that they would be in big trouble if they were actually caught.
So the four people in the dim room froze and didn’t dare to move a single muscle.
Everyone of them held their breath and waited for a reaction.
But nothing happened and the feeling of an utterly relief was almost tangible.
Then they found themself standing in front of the bedroom door.
"Should we knock or just enter the room?"
"Why have we been so quiet all the time when we’re going to wake him up anyway?"
Kutner grumbled.
Foreman was the one who reacted first.
He knocked on the door and waited for a response. Nothing happened.
Foreman knocked harder. No reaction.
With a shrug he opened the door and stepped into the lion's den.
The rest of the team followed him nervously.
A snore filled the room and the ducklings could not oppress a smirk. House was lying in his bed, obviously in deep slumber and not aware of anything that was going on around him. His cell was lying on the bedside table, but it was turned off.
Unsure of what to do, the quartet stayed were it was and began to look around.
They did not dare to wake their boss but they could not keep on standing there like stuffed dummies either.
House himself solved the problem by waking up on his own. At first he could not believe his eyes and rubbed them several times as if he was dreaming…a very bad dream.
When this did not cause any change he stared at the four people that were standing in front of his bed with akward smiles on their faces.
"What are you doing here?"
he asked furiously, his voice still drowsy.
"Your patient suffered from a heart attack and we tried to consult you but you didn’t pi…"
House couldn’t believe his ears.
„What the hell is wrong with you?“ he yelled.
"You must be deranged! Who of you came up with that glorious idea?!"
Kutner pointed at Taub.
"It was him."
Taub glared at Kutner.
"This will have serious consequences!"
House started to rant while the others began to feel more and more uncomfortable.
"Why did you turn your cell phone off?" Foreman managed to ask.
"You can use the bathroom now! I'm done!"
A well known female voice kept House from replying.
The four doctors looked at each other in shock before they grinned from one ear to the other.
"Come to the hospital when you've finished. And don't worry, if anybody asks for Cuddy we'll tell them that she is doing well and will be there soon."
With that the duckling left House behind who had blushed a little.
