This was the first horror movie that was based on true events that i've ever seen. LUV IT!

I like a lot of these. I LOVE TTCM remake, but in this case I will use the original as the basis for this pick. The Strangers was amazing! Death Tunnel was crap but it was watchable. Love The Amityville Horror & An American Haunting too.

I love it

Haunting in Connecticut is about a boy with cancer whose family moves into a house that used to be a funeral home as well as was used for seances (and other evil rituals). Because the boy is under experimental treatment for the cancer ravaging his body, the horrific images he sees may or may not be caused by the drugs.

I just watched this movie earlier this week, for the first time.

The fact that The Amityville Horror is winning over Psycho makes me despair of humanity.

I think the Texas chainsaw massacre or the strangers they are super scary and jaws, hills have eyes, death tunnel, the stepfather, and open water are not based on a true story

Some people I swear-Jaws happened in the early 1900's in new jersey i believe there's a movie on it, hills have eyes was based off some cannibal family centuries ago in europe i think... idk death tunnel at all, stepfather was based on actual events yes look it up and open water again a true story look it up. its funny tcm is actually NOT based off real people just loosely based off ed gein's life

I'm picking The Entity not because I feel it's better than a few of the others, but because I see that it has less votes and I believe that's only because it's not a popular film. However, this movie was pretty dam good and very shocking to be based off a true story. I just feel that not many people saw it yet, but as a true film buff and Horror fan, I recommend this film for everyone to see. Trust me... it's good.
