Okay I mean like horror movies are very rarely RARELY ever voted into any kind of "prestigious" awards. Critics laugh at them, and criticize their every turn while every Will Ferrell comedy is praised up and down. It kind of pisses me off. I KNOW that half the time, horror movies are made to satisfy the gorehounds but because of some of the super silly stuff horror movies have come out with, it seems that every one coming out gets looked past just because it's bloody.

yah true i think its because horrors more serious and they have to pay more attention, CRITICS HATE THAT. and true because alot of ppl cant get past blood they have trouble watching it its just the way some ppl are thats why thrillers are rated higher.

I totally know what you mean! It irritates me to no end! Just because something is a little sick and twisted doesn't mean you have to overlook it. And I swear if The Orphan doesn't get at least nominated for some kind of award I'll be SO pissed! That movie was so sick it was freaking amazing.

Hey, MBV is one of my favorite horror movies! It was incredible and if you hang around this spot long enough, you'll find that I try to promote it as often as possible (like using it in picks, talking about it in comments, etc). It cannot get enough love!

lol. I liked it well enough and you gotta love Jensen but personally if you're gonna compare the winchester brothers I'm gonna have to go with Jared. I loved him in Cry Wolf and House of Wax. and ofcourse I loved seein ghim on a motorcyle in Friday te 13th.

Yes I have but I didn't like it. Then this remake came out and it had Jensen, was a horror movie, and was in 3D so that right there had me sold! lol

The ANOES original will definitely be better, but I find myself liking a lot of horror remakes. I don't see the big deal with most of them.

No, I like the remakes don't get me wrong I just find that I usually like the remakes better..only exception on that is The Omen

FINALLY someone brings this up! It angers me so bad when I get all excited for a horror movie and everyone takes it as a joke. What makes me the MADDEST is that Drama movies like "Doubt" and stuff win Oscars every year when in my opinion, they are so stupid! I love films of all kind but the only genre that usually wins is Drama! Why can't they be called the Drama awards?!. Haha, okay that's stupid but you get my drift. People think horror movies are either stupid or ridicules, but they deserve much more credit.

lol I know, right? There are some really legit horror films out there but nobody outside the horror buffs actually look at them. That's why I hate those stupid "academy" awards! I hate the Emmy's too because 24 & Kiefer Sutherland get snubbed EVERY YEAR. I've just begun to realize he is too good for them. He always gets nominated & most of the time wins a SAG award for best actor which is the award that really matters so yeah :)

Very true. I don't understand why they get over looked. The story plot in horror movies are much more interesting then some of the romantic comedys that win every year. Or the action movies that only win cause they explode random crap.

I knew some people just hate them, but I never let that bug me. But sometimes it's just so frustrating how people just...well, they don't GET horror movies! X(
