Because most people have "mainstream" taste. True fans to the genre know that B movies are movies that are more times than not made FOR the fans. They are almost always my favorites over a lot of mainstream horror.

To be honest, I think those aren't true fans of the genre. Or they are people who just jump on the bandwagon when something gets popular. They like whatever the people around them like, because they want to be accepted.
