To fix Heroes, I would make it more like season 1, where everything seemed like a realistic blend between reality and fantasy that everyone wanted to get caught up in. Another thing, not killing so many characters with potential. That was one of the things about Heroes that made it so fun, there was an actual universe behind it not just we have several characters let's just use them with the same themes every season. There are some things that should be kept to a minimum unless you literally can't do it any other way. Time travel. I am sick and tired of almost every villian exploiting Claire's daddy issues with HRG. I want to see characters develop in real ways, not just oh my gosh I have been thrust into this situation how am I going to react?Good writing can do that in a great way, but Heroes (and I am prepared for the flames) has been doing this lately in a terrible way. Give people vulnerabilty. Good example, I liked seeing Peter not being his hero self and recognizing that he needed to cope with his brother being gone and acting out on it. Most people would be like "I can't believe he did that!" Well, good! We see a different side and that gives us more depth. I just would fix Heroes to the point where it is substance-not some cardboard that I can glean a few things that I like every week.
