Ron under the love potion.

And the hospital scene, when Lavander runs in. "He senses my presence. I'm here, Won-won!"

I honestly HATED that scene. I just wanted to tear the book apart when I read those line. But c'mon! what good would it have done? And it was my money. When I saw that in movie, I wanted nothing more to cast a killing curse on Hermione,, or better yet... The Cruciatus Curse... CRUCIO!!

I agree, that was a great part xD with the birds

I loved the scene where Harry sees Katie in the Great Hall and asks her who gave her the necklace, just as Draco is coming in, and then Harry and Draco have their little bathroom fight. I think Tom felton was just BRILLIANT.

I liked the Quidditch scenes. C'mon, it's Quidditch. Who doesn't love Quidditch?:D

Other than that, I really hated the HBP movie. They randomly inserted the fight at the Burrow, the Burrow burning down, and made Dumbledore's death horribly non dramatic and not even that saddening. And then they didn't even make up for it by going and not even having the battle inside of Hogwarts, letting the Death Eaters just walk away leisurly.

WTF.

So you wanted a bit more drama during Dumbledore's death? Like-- Snape using Cruciatus on Dumbledore before killing him? Or Slughorn crying all over his dead body?? I replied only coz Half Blood prince is my favorite movie!!

Dumbledore's death in the movie got no emotional response from me whatsoever. His death in the books, however, made me cry, and it was the only death I cried over (save Dobby's perhaps).

Maybe it made you crying coz you were reading it for first time. But in the movie, you saw it coming and you prepared yourselves. Some of my friends, who don't read books and only watch movies did say it was pretty emotional scene. It differs from person to person, what they find emotional enough to shed up tear, doesn't it? I only cried while watching some of movies and only one of them being Hollywood (Rob-b-hood, one of last scene. If you've seen it, you know). But I get teary-eyed while reading fanfics!

Hmm, good point. Perhaps the movies tried to make it more dramatic so that the movie fans will find it emotional, instead of the people that already knew what would happen from the books.

Now I'm answering this question from the standpoint of reading the book, not the movie. I've seen the movie too, but the book was better in my opinion. My personal favorite part of the half-blood prince would have to be when Severus revealed himself to be the half-blood prince. it was the perfect timing, and very well set up.

From the book it would be the love potion and when Harry drank the Felix Felicus, both were hilarious. And when Harry and Draco fought in the bathroom and he had to run through the school covered in blood.

Are we going by the book or the film?

My favorite part in the BOOK was when Harry snuck up on Draco Malfoy in the bathroom with Moaning Myrtle and they startied fighting but I was a bit disappointed that this scene wasn't in its original context for the film.
SO for the FILM i'd say my favorite part was at the end when everyone raised their wand and made the Dark Mark go away.

Spinner's End. Any scene with Severus in is my fav. However, what happened there, is what will condition the rest of the story : the Unbreakable Vow, whose 2nd clause is to seal Severus' fate (in my opinion). The scene on the Astronomy Tower is really intense too.

I must say that I'm a fan of Alan Rickman - he's perfect as Severus : his voice, his gaze, his face expressions, his poise, his grace. He is Severus.
