Mostly because no matter what, both of them are going to continue to exist for the rest of eternity. Like it or not. Neither of them are going to ever go away.
Well technically they will both exist forever. But I personally think Harry Potter will stay around longer. They're already making a new movie and a new book, who knows what's next? Are they doing that for Twilight? No. But even though I don't like Twilight, I'm sure it will still have huge fans twenty, thirty, fifty, even one hundred years from now. But the thing is, Harry Potter, despite not being ~that~ old, can already be considered a classic. In my English class, every semester, we have to a Classic Reading Project. The teacher always gives us a list of classics to choose from. Harry Potter is always on the list. And the last book has been around for not even ten years! You know Lord of the Rings? Of course you do. Well, that book series is absolutley *ancient* and yet still has millions of fans. I think in the future, that's what it's going to be like for the Harry Potter series. Twilight will live for a long time, and there will always be loyal Twilight fans, but I feel that Harry Potter is just going to keep being a huge part of many people's lives forever.

Technically, they'll both last forever, but I think Harry Potter will be remembered longer than Twilight. Almost five years have passed since the last Harry Potter movie has been released and it is still rather popular with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening recently at Universal Studios Hollywood and with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them coming to theaters later this year. Not to mention, it's already considered a literary classic and could be put up there with Lord of the Rings. While Twilight will have still have very dedicated, loyal fans, it's already waning in popularity, as most YA romance novels and movies do over time.
