Congrats,Mariel,on winning GG fan of the month! You deserved it! :)

1.Is Gossip Girl your favorite show on TV?
Yes, at least right now it is.

2.Why do you like Gossip Girl?
Well, honestly I started watching it only because it happened in the UES, which is where I live, so I was quite curious to see how it would be. Then I started watching the show a lot and I just really liked it, but I became a real fan after episode 7. Chuck and Blair moved me, they were (and are, in my opinion obviously) perfect together and they matched their personalities perfectly.
So right now I can say that, yes… I’m one of those persons who watch Gossip Girl for Chuck&Blair.

3.Can you relate to anything that's happened on the show?
There are a lot things that could be related, really, since I live in the same place they do and I go to a similar school and stuff like that.
I don’t know, for example, there are some things that are very vague like the society to very precise things like going to The Box or shopping at Barney’s.

4.Who's your favorite couple? Why are they your favorite?
I think it’s quite obvious by now which is my favorite couple. Anyway, I think Chuck&Blair are my favorite couple because of many reasons. First of all, I love both of the characters a lot, they amuse me and I almost always forgive their mistakes, though that’s another reason for loving them; they are really imperfect. That is very appealing to me, because you get to see a lot of character growth that in their case comes usually while they are together.
Their love is so passionate so addictive and yet is still so tragic and sad, at times. They have this perfect chemistry which obviously doesn’t eliminate their complicated and so interesting storyline.
Their relationship started abruptly and it was kind of a mistake for both of them but it was so wrong it was right and I think a lot of people realized then that it was the best mistake they had ever made because even though it was somewhat unexpected it just clicked because they were just so perfect for each other.
So, basically, I love every aspect of their relationship and I would love to see it because something more as soon as possible because we’ve waited a lot.

5.Who's your favorite character? Why is he/she your fave?
Well, I love both Chuck and Blair almost equally but I think Chuck will always be my favorite character, no matter what. He just entertains me so much, he’s incredibly witty and sarcastic, he’s so messed up and I just understand him so well. He sometimes screws up a lot, but he has his reasons and they are so deep. All his life was one mistake after another and he’s so insecure beneath his Chuck Bass armour. And finally with Blair he started showing his feelings a lot more but just for her (and for his father a little bit too haha). I don’t know, there are a lot of things I love about him.
Oh, and he can pull off purple! That must be a plus.

6.If you could change one thing about Gossip Girl, what would it be and why?
Well, I would make it less humorous. I mean, not necessarily less funny, but less humorous. Like, for example, the mean girls are just one big joke and in a drama series like Gossip Girl it feels weird having characters that are just so… plain. Also, Nelly Yuki used to be intelligent, what happened with that?
Oh, and I’ve come to realize (thanks Mel!) that this season has been too inconsistent at times and I would love to have the consistency back.

7.Which character do YOU think is the most overrated? Why?
Well, I think there could be like at least 2 different types of kind of overrated characters. For example, I think Nate is overrated among the fans, because even though in my opinion his storylines suck, he has no character growth whatsoever and he is really hypocrite sometimes a lot of people love him which I think it’s mainly because of Chace.
Also, I think Serena is overrated among the characters in the show. They all think she’s perfect in every way when she has a lot of problems too. She got into Yale, at least in my opinion, just because the dean was overrating her.

8.Which character do YOU think is the most underrated? Why?
Well, again I have 2 different types of underrated characters.
First, I think Dan is underrated among the fans because a lot of people hate him passionately and the other ones don’t really care but I’ve come to really care about him this season, because he got a lot of character growth and I think most people didn’t even notice that, or if they noticed they still hate him but I don’t know why. Also, I think Jenny should be in this category too.
Then, I think Dan is underrated among the characters in the show too, because most of them don’t really like him when they don’t even know him at all.

9.Have you loved GG from the beginning? If so,why? And if not, why?
Yes, I’ve loved GG from the beginning, though not obsessively like right now. And I’ve said the reasons in the second question.

10.Which couple do YOU think has the most passionate and romantic scenes on GG?Why?
Well, again, I’d go for Chuck and Blair. In my opinion, they can easily win the most passionate scenes, but some people could disagree with the most romantic ones and I must say that I still think they have the most romantic scenes because Chuck is not “supposed” to show any kind of love and when he does it means a lot, and Blair is “supposed” to really dislike Chuck so for her to show love to him is really meaning full too.

Season 3

Dan joins Blair, Vanessa and Georgina at NYU and instantly fits in amongst many aspiring writers. His stay at NYU also tests his friendship with Vanessa, who assumes that Dan has been absent in their friendship ever since he became wealthy. Dan explains to Vanessa that he and his family are still adjusting to their nouveau-riche status and Vanessa leaves frustrated at Dan.

Dan's first day at NYU reveals Georgina Sparks' return. When Georgina throws a party, Blair's attempt at sabotage results in Dan standing up for Georgina. Dan is popular at NYU, and his influence leaves Blair ostracized....

I have to be honest, I wasn't really excited for Gossip Girl's return. It didn't leave a huge impression last break, which was probably why this review took so long to post. They story-lines revolved around Chuck, Blair, Lily, Jenny, Serena and a few minor appearances from Dan and Rufus. I didn't expect much here, so basically anything that actually flowed enough for me to tolerate, was easily eaten up.

The main focal point for me was with Jenny and this 'drug' sequence. It surprises me how quickly Jenny could make a 'designer' top flawlessly. I don't understand why she hasn't channeled her...

Gossip Girl aspires to achieve a certain goal every time a new episode is aired. Here we had a self depressing Chuck, a misguided Serena, a sibling rivalry and thorn marriages. Now Gossip Girl has taken the road where the end would justify the means and all the other pieces before it could simply fall out of place, so long as everything ends in accordance with the script.

That is why we have characters poking in and out of episodes without any sort of development or back story as to how they claimed even a second of screen time. We also have characters falling in and out of love like a misused...

I am going to be frank from the beginning, I really do not like the direction the writers of Gossip Girl are going with this show. This episode bears no exception. I mean I really tried to find some interest in the new Vanessa Dan storyline, Blair's crazy obsession with the play and Jenny's experimenting stage, but I couldn't. I have accepted that Gossip Girl has found its way into this type of political drama and lost sight of why fans loved the series in the beginning. Yet for the past few weeks now, washed down writing has become frequent and honestly I could do without it.

Vanessa-Dan-Olivia...

Every once in a while, a celebrity comes along that has a distinctive "look," a hair or a clothing style that, in time, comes to be associated with them. Think Diane Keaton and pantsuits, Anna Wintour and her bob, Isabella Blow and her hats, Kriss Kross and their backwards pants, Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez and her condom glasses, and so on. And now: Blake Lively and her boobs. Recently, the 21-year-old Gossip Girl actress has been lauded for her long, blond, charmingly wild hair, but the assets Lively flaunts most flamboyantly are not on her head: They're on her chest. Like on Saturday night, when...

The Headband Project, a campaign to bring back the fierce writing and characterization that has been sorely lacking from Gossip Girl for some time, especially for the female characters. The show has created some of the most interesting characters of our time, which is a major reason we got hooked on the show. But now it seems what made these characters great has been thrown out the window, and this bothers us immensely.

Blair, Serena and Jenny used to be the epitome of feminism but now, not only are they dumbed down, they're being treated as weaklings. That is the reason we chose this name for...
