Hey! I've already seen the season 1, 2 and a part of the 3rd..I would like to read the books too but I don't know if the show and the books are the same. Are they?

No they're not... The main characters are the same but the story is different! But you should read them!

The show is basically based on the book but yeah there are lot of differences as they can't put everything from book to the show and moreover there is always a slight diff. between the things we read and we use to see. They try to add more crisp and twist to the stories so that people love to watch it.
