Girls Generation/SNSD Article: Album Review: Mr. Mr.

It's another music review! Today, I'll be giving a track-by-track review of the album, and I know a lot of people haven't heard it yet, so after reading this, go to the links at find "Listen to Mr. Mr. Full." If it's been taken down once you read this, then I'm not too sure whether or not I should be sad or happy for you. I'll explain why later.

Mr. Mr.: 7/10
This is actually the first title track of SNSD that I really disliked or ever rated this low. The music video teasers seemed like it was going to be very promising, but sadly, wasn't. It wasn't catchy, and overall, it was pretty boring to hear. I'm not saying that it wasn't good, but it pretty boring.

Goodbye: 10/10
SM must have made a mistake. This should have been the title track. This sounded so much better than Mr. Mr, and admittedly, most of the album. Everyone sounded great, even Hyoyeon and Yoona! Thank God, SM actually gave them something in their vocal range.

Europa: 8/10
There was nothing special about this song. It sounded fine, but I think I'll forget about this song in the next few hours.

Wait a Minute: 8.5/10
Just read Europa again. I really have nothing to say except that it was a bit better than that and Back Hug.

Back Hug: 8/10
The chorus pretty much saved this song for me. Otherwise, I would have rated it the same as Mr. Mr.

Soul: 9.5/10
If you haven't already heard "Find Your Soul," the song that SNSD recorded for the Chinese video game, Blade & Soul, then you're missing out. "Soul" is basically just a Korean version of the song. I would have rated it a 10, but some parts didn't flow that well compared to the Chinese version. Tiffany and Hyoyeon still slayed their raps though!

Album Overall: 8.5/10
Wasn't worth the hype imo. I thought they would do better than this especially since they only delayed it in response to 2NE1's album, CRUSH. Unfortunately, I think they have more of a chance of beating SNSD now.

Recommendations: Goodbye and Soul

Least Favorite Song: Mr. Mr.

usernameinvalid This album was a mess. The concept looked SO GOOD, now we got stuck with a really bad mini. So many grate songs were released this week. I was hoping for complete slayage on SNSD's part but now it looks like 2NE1 might be doing the slaying. Either way sones are gonna buy it up. Kinda like IGAB.

snsdlover4ever ^Yeah. I think that Sones know that the album is that bad, but are so desperate to beat 2NE1 that they'll buy everything.

usernameinvalid I've listened to the album over seven times and the only songs I remember are Soul and Back Hug. GG, GG.

sandra311 i think that problem with this mini album is that the songs are good but not catchy enough

pyang163 I think it's more about personal preference because I liked Back hug, Wait a Minute and Mr.Mr and did not like Goodbye or Soul. I prefer the mandarin version of Soul more.

snsdlover4ever ^Back Hug was okay for me. It's mostly because it seems a little bit too cheesy, especially that last line in the chorus,"You cover my heart." I'm starting to like Wait a Minute after listening to it 5 more times, but I think the most it will ever be is an 8.5 or a 9. The main reason why I like Goodbye out of all of these is because I kinda like the retro music, Sunny didn't use her high-pitched cute voice, and Yoona didn't sound like she was whispering in the mic compared to most of the songs. I agree, I prefer the Mandarin version of Soul; that's why I gave it a 9.5/10. Mr. Mr. sounded to generic for me to listen to, and the breakdown in the middle of the song, when this random lady starts counting, really didn't help me like the song. Oh well, everyone has different opinions.

pretty_angel92 well, my favorite songs are Mr Mr, Goodbye and Backhug Wait a minute is ok i don't like Europa Soul...i prefer the chinese version, tbh

Gretulee Well 2 my fav girl group making comebacks Im happy...but this album is just really a mess for SNSD, IGAB was way better even Im not a huge fan of this album either...I think the best SNSD songs are Japanese...I hope 2NE1 will do well ^^ Sorry for saying this in SNSD club, but that what I think

Tippany I also thought Goodbye was the best song in the album. Mr. Mr. is also great in my opinion, I like it more than I Got a Boy.
