It's in the pledge. I don't say the pledge anymore, and I refuse to until gay marriage is allowed. Otherwise we cannot claim "With Liberty and Justice For All"
Gay marrage should be allowed EVERYWHERE if u love someone and want to be married to them why everyone have the wedding they want & how they want it w/out judgement or dicrimination based on who they love? I SUPPORT GAY MARRAGE ALL THE WAY.
I think there should be gay marriage. I don't think it's fair that the people who are gay cannot have their partner's hand in marriage. It is just like saying it''s illegal to love and marry. I can't say the pledge anymore until every single gay person in the world is happy because they have the choice to be happily married. I'm sure the gay people agree with me when I say the government has lost their damn minds!
The government holds us together,be it as it may,but they are keeping others apart. IT IS LEGAL TO LOVE SOMEONE,OPPOSITE GENDER OR NOT!!!
In some countries, this is already leggal, including my country, which is good to hear. But every country still has some kind of prejudice towards gay/lesbians. I even heard a group of kids calling a younger one "A gay lord" once. They looked about seven and had no idea what it meant. Man, parents should educate their kids a bit more.
I live in France, where there's written "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" (not hard to translate, "liberty, egality, fraternity") on every school. But gays can't get marry and they can't adopt either. Plus, in 2004 two girls asked the right to marry each other but they didn't have the right to. WTF?!
There absolutely should be gay marriage! You can't help who you love & if you happen to fall in love with the same gender you should not made to feel inferior nor should you have to be subjected to a different set of rules (not being able to marry, tax deductions etc) just because you love someone of the same gender. Love is love and that's all that really matters!
One of the main excuses people use to deny our rights is that a gay marriage is ruining the foundation of marriage, but I'm pretty sure that heterosexuals are doing that just fine on their own. The USA has the highest divorce rate of anywhere & the LGBT community have no part in that. They also so that a family should consist of a mother, father & a child or children, but in the world today there are so many different kinds of families. Extended families living together, single parents, grandparents or siblings raising the child(ren), even friends co-raising their children. As long as a child is loved for, cared & provided for they will be fine. =]
If you love them then Why not? This is supposed to be a free country right? LOVE IS LOVE and anyone should marry whoever they deem worthy of their love! Love belongs to the person who shows it, NOT THE GOVT!
This may be hard to believe, but some gay people are actually against gay marriage because the law states that it's between a man and a woman. I think marriage is marriage. Gender shouldn't really matter.
Yes, because there need to be equal right for everyone. It dosn't matter with who you sleep, it don't change the fact that every people deserve to be loved.
No one should be prevented from marrying the person they love. Regardless of race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, sexual identity, what the fuck ever. Everyone deserves the right...governments and religious nuts are acting like it's a privelige...like gays don't DESERVE to get married, simply because they are gay.
I completely support gay rights. But the more I think about it, the less I support gay marriage. At least, not the typical kind of marriage.
If there was a typical marriage, then who would give the ring to who? And the words of the ceremony would not work if it were not a guy and a girl. Not to mention there would be no bridesmaids/best man.
Now, if it was possible to make a religious wedding ceremony legally and spiritually binding for gay couples, then yes I would support it. But for gays to get married in the current state of the wedding? No.
I'm not really leaning in one way or another. I'm relatively neutral on gay rights, but I say that if they wanna get married, LET THEM GET FREAKING MARRIED! Seriously, does it hurt anyone if homosexuals get married? And I find it stupid that so many fans of yaoi(boy on boy love in anime/manga) claim that they don't support gay rights. Pathetic. God, people like that need a brain scan. Anyways, the point is, just let them get married. The government is acting like homosexuals are going to kill their mom. WHAT THE FRICK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE GETTING MARRIED?! Just let them, it's not going to hurt you.
Hell yeah!, If straight people can do it so can gay's, This goes back to a comment I made on another question about gays. If they choose to have a gay marriage, well that is their choice. Not mine.
So what is wrong with a little love these days. With all of the worlds problems.
yes cuz their is noting wrong getting married to the person u love nd they choses to be like dat so dont u dare jugde ppl nd god will accpect them for them not something ur not
So what I'm NOT gay?!?1?!?! Gay people can love too! That's like saying that a certain race can't love, or a country can't love!!! LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED.
i say yes because i really wanna marry my boyfriend one day i wanna be with him forever and ever now i know it might not be as easy as it sounds but i will try all i can to be his lover forever
To all those jerks who said no, there is no reason that gay people shouldn't get married. If you love somebody, then, act on it. Like sersiously, gay people are still people, they are just like being straight, it's just for the same sex. Like ligit, its fine. And I am not just saying all this because I am bisexual, but almost completely gay.
I am not gay but I completely support gay marriage. I have a best friend who is a lesbian and her girlfriend proposed to her. So sweet <3 I wonder if I will be invited to the wedding... tee hee
I'm extremely disappointed no one said it was against 'God'. I do believe in him, yes, and other gods also. I always have fun arguing with the people who claim it's un-natural and wrong.
if 2 lesbos/gays wanna get married, then the dummass government should let their so-called "ban" against gay marriage get between them >:o!!! & i dont mean 2 go against the Bible, but its stupid to say homosexuality is sin, then they can sin ALL... THEY... WANT... CUZ THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING LESBIAN/GAY!!!!! (P.S. ive always wanted 2 be friends with a gay prson ^_^)
I am not sure honestly :(... I am a Christian and I'm very shy and innocent..I don't want to go to hell. That is my worst fear. I HATE disappointment. It kills me on the inside. My family hates gays and makes fun of them often. I am a female... and I think girls are..amazing. I'm bisexual if not lesbian.. and I am so afraid... so scared... I have only dated on girl but she treated me horridly. But the whole time I was win her I felt guilty and had that vomit feeling. (Not because of her just the idea of being with a girl) but... I know I like.girls.... ;(
CatchEmAIIXD, don't be afraid to be lesbian or bi! Be proud! You're beautiful (I know I've never met you, but everyone is beautiful). I'm a Christian also, and straight, but I have absolutely nothing against LGBT's. My whole family goes to church, and we don't discriminate. I know what the bible says, but honestly? Some of that stuff if kind of old-school. And you will NOT go to hell for being with another girl. God and Jesus loves you just as you are, and the more you love, the better off you are. If you like girls, and you admit it; good for you! Next time you see your family making fun of gays, tell them to stop. Don't be scared; stand up for what you believe in!
And as for the question, of course! Whoever picked no shouldn't even be on this club. Most citizens (including gays) don't know a member of the government and people who make laws anyway, so why should complete strangers be telling you whether or not you can happily be in love? I support gay marriage forever! <3
Keep on loving peoples! XOXOXO
Actually no, there should be marriage fullstop. The phrase "gay marriage" indicates that marriage between a same sex couple differs somewhat from the union between a straight couple.
I understand that we use it as a shorter form, so whenever somebody asks if I support gay marriage I always say yes. Still, I think we should rather ask "Do you think same sex couples should be allowed to get married?". It may seem like a little thing or being a grammar Nazi, but as long as hundreds (or more likely thousands) of misconceptions are around, we should pay attention to the details and try to avoid ambiguity. :)
^That's awesome.
Also, why's the government have to go in their business? If there's a boy and a girl who love each other, and the government said no to that, everybody would make a big deal about it, but not if it's a boy and a boy or a girl and a girl. I think that's unnecessary and stupid.
Of course gay marriage should exist. If not, then you're depriving two human beings from one of their most basic rights. Anyone who says otherwise is nuts! (I hope not to offend anyone, it's just I feel very strongly about this).
While I am straight, I don't see any reason why same sex couples can't have the same rights as heterosexual couples. They're not hurting anyone. As long as it doesn't infringe upon the rights of others, let them do as they please.
People that don't want same-sex couples need to think...
What if it was opposite-gender marriage that was illegal?
Even though gay marriage is legal in the US now, which is AWESOME! :D

Love is multiversal. Love is for all who seek it. If you're in love with someone and ther love you back, then you should be together. The only approval for marriage you need is the consent of your significant other.
Here in Ulster same-sex marriage is still NOT allowed!Only the civil partnership is recognised, unlike the rest of UK & Ireland as well.Marriage is STILL rather traditional over here. This is Ulster's future: Englishmen & Irishmen MARRIED=Peace & love!
It's in the pledge. I don't say the pledge anymore, and I refuse to until gay marriage is allowed. Otherwise we cannot claim "With Liberty and Justice For All"
There is nothing wrong with gay people- just look at David Hyde Peirce, he's great and gay.
It's just unfair that people don't get to marry who they want.
The government holds us together,be it as it may,but they are keeping others apart. IT IS LEGAL TO LOVE SOMEONE,OPPOSITE GENDER OR NOT!!!
that's why he wont even talk to me :'(
gay people should be able to get married
its not fair!!!!!
T~T

@larouxbestfan: I TOTALLY agree with you!
