They already know for years. Ever since they caught me in the act with my first boyfriend 2 years ago. That was my coming out! In fact, I didn't come out of anything. Instead, my parents came in, in my own room, right in the middle of a sex with my boyfriend! Can you imagine that? It was a huge shock to both of them, but at least now they both know the truth, so there's no need for me to come out of a closet at all.

Well, yes & no actually. I was a half-orphan, so I never get the chance to tell my dad I'm gay. He was a victim of the IRA back in 1995 when I was only 4, so how could I possibly have told him I was gay?! As for my late mum who has died of stroke in 2014, yeah, she knew the truth all along, yet she kept hooking me up with some cute girls, until I finally had enough of it, so I left my hometown at age 16 & moved to Belfast & get a job. I never went back ever again. My mum just wanted to change me into being straight, much like some of my so called schoolmates. I can't be what I'm not! I guess my late mum just couldn't handle the truth that some people are born gay! She was a school teacher at my school & my dad was a policeman btw. My mum found out I was gay by accident actually. She found a gay magazine in my room when I was 14! I've already lost my virginity back then. My mum just wanted to have 2 straight sons instead of just 1! She just couldn't accept the fact it's my younger brother Tom who's been straight, not me!!

Not exactly a gay friendly mum from a Prom Queen: A Marc Hall Story, though we both share almost the identical first name.

I have. It was a so so experience, but it went better than I expected. I was 16. I told my mom first. She wasn't too happy about the news. She kept asking questions like "Did something make you this way?" and "Did someone touch you?" etc. Which the answer to those questions was no. I just knew ever since I was 12, but didn't want to accept that fact until I was 16. So after all that my mom made me call my dad and tell him. My dad isn't a kind of person that gives his opinions about anything so I had no clue how he would react. At least with my mom I had an idea how she would react. But when I called him and told him he just said "You're my son and I'll accept you no matter what.". That was a relief to me. Then later that day when my sister and I were alone she asked me if I was gay. My mom probably mentioned something to her. I reluctantly said yes then my sister said "Oh dude I don't care. I'm bi." That was a real shocker to me. All my life I never suspected that my sister was bi. But anyway, my coming out to my family wasn't really the greatest thing, but it could have gone a lot worse.

They know I'm gay for ages now. The first time they found out I was gay was when I was still in highschool. They saw me kissing a boy next door, so there was really no need for me to tell them.
