I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Isaac Hempstead Wright, Ellie Kendrick, Maisie Williams and Tom Wlaschiha tease their characters in season 6 | Watchers on the Wall | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
season 6 that turned up online yesterday. They feature Isaac Hempstead Wright and Ellie Kendrick in the first video, and Maisie Williams and Tom Wlaschiha in the second. The interviews include the actors sharing their thoughts on where their characters are currently with some intriguing teases for the season to come.
In the first, Kendrick and Hempstead Wright discuss returning to the set after taking a year off. Isaac talks about Bran’s developing powers being trained “like Luke Skywalker,” while Ellie talks more about the “tricky situation” Meera finds herself in, in season 6.
Williams and Wlaschiha avoid confirming any plot specifics, but Maisie notes that, “This season Arya get really broken. She goes through a really really difficult process and she’s totally stripped back.” She adds that, “This time it’s a lot more physical,” as well.
“We’ve never seen her come this close to giving up,” Williams says.
Wlaschiha is cagey about Jaqen H’ghar’s intentions. When questioned, he says he’s “Not sure I’m a fatherly figure,” and suggests, “Maybe Jaqen has a secret agenda of his own. He might pursue his own goals.”

Did the interviewer ask if Jon Snow is REALLY dead? Cmon maybe they will finally say yes this time
What if Arya uses Jons face as a new identidy?
Rotfl … If this marketing has done anything it’s made me not care about Jon at all whether he comes back stays dead or magically transforms into an octopus holding a wand
I wonder if they’ll change the appearance of the Children of the Forest.
I totally agree. I have to admit I’ve been quite singular-minded during this off season in regards to JS, so everyone else coming out and doing press is reenergizing my interest for the rest of it, because I really do love all the storylines.
With all we’ve learned over the past week or so, Looks like Bran is leaving the cave after all. I had been convinced that he’d stay there too.
Why would they? At any rate, one of the videos detailing the prosthetics and things used seemed to show one in the background: and if we could recognise it as such, then the answer is “little if any.”
Great interviews. Glad we did not see/hear the question about Jon. They were actually able to talk about their own characters. Feels like a breath of fresh air.
I can’t wait to return to Bran’s story. I wonder what adventures Meera and him will embark on. 😛
! They are so different and nice and actually generate interest in these four characters in Season 6 and their journeys. Instead of the usual drivel about You-Know-Who!
What if that is bran on the horse throwing fireballs lol
I wonder if they’ll change the appearance of the Children of the Forest.
They look at least very similar. You can glimpse one in the Prosthetics featurette.
Even tho even other storys line are all only there to serve the plot of Jon Snow/Stark/Targaryen as he is the direct result of the song of fire of ice, which was sung by his parents.
Wonderful to see the incessant hodoring hasn’t gone anywhere
That’s what he’s been practicing during his time off. He shouts haduken when he throws them!
OT: I know that no more pictures are accepted in the contest, but I made another one:
I think you might be right! The only time we have seen those little fireballs is with the children of the forest. Maybe Bran learned a trick or two from them
I originally thought it might be cold hands but he’s scared of fire.
Body Language Sweepstakes loser: Michael McElhatton
Neat to see Jonathan Pryce be supportive of the show. He knows the names of the characters!
Coldhands doesn’t scared of fire and he’s riding on a horse instead of an elk. This elk-riding thing would be too much in the series anyway.
Maise: ” George can write pages and pages about a feast”
Well, now I guess the only real juicy news that we can look forward is getting the titles ! Looking forward to that !
heh, so, to make it work, you only have to change two basic things!
The horseman could be absolutely anyone, including someone never even given a name. We can only guess as to who it might be, which makes it pointless to speculate.
Moreover, the horseman does not appear to be throwing a magical fireball: it looks like he/she has some adapted morningstar-like device with something flammable inside. He/she whacks the victim with it, and fire ensues. (Presumably oil or something is in it to cause the individual to catch on fire: just hitting a person with a torch only burns them or their heavy clothing.)
You know, I actually wondered if it could be the re-appearance of Benjen, my totally unsullied husband suggested it to me and it’s kind of bouncing around in my head as a possible theory…what do you think?
I’ve never thought of that. My thoughts are that it might be Benjen Stark, but Bran could be a possibility, but why is he cloaked? If it might be Bran. We shall find out.
Jon is my favorite character, book and tv, by miles and miles but I wouldn’t go as far as saying that other characters/storylines are only there to serve his arc or his story. All characters are there to contribute to the downfall of their world/society as they had known it, all contributing to bring about a great confrontation (humans vs Others) in which, presumably many feel, Jon will play a major role. But regardless of their importance to the final battle, it would be wrong to diminish the contributions of all characters, from Arya to Twyin to Theon, to the story as a whole. The saga, like life, is about inter-connectivity, the actions of one person are bound to affect every one else. Rhaegar believed in the coming of the Others and in the need to bring about TPTWP, this belief may have led to Robert’s rebellion and to the subsequent exile of Daenerys which brought the return of actual dragons to the world. Rhaegar, unknowingly, changed everyone’s life in Westeros and even in Essos, even though his intentions, we think, were to bring about the savior or saviors of prophecy. Likewise every other character since, including Jon, has been contributing to creating the circumstances necessary for the rise of the Others and subsequently fighting a final battle against them.
Danny: Jon is my favorite character, book and tv, by miles and miles but I wouldn’t go as far as saying that other characters/storylines are only there to serve his arc or his story.
Indeed: Jon is just as much there for Daeny as Daeny is for Jon: the two of them have strongly paralleling character arcs.
(I do find it amusing that posters vary from considering tertiary characters like Barristan just as important as Jon or Daeny to those asserting that this really is a single-protagonist story!)
Bran should be out: that rider is using his legs. They might make that mistake. However, unlike this is something that the general audience does know: someone with no control over his legs would basically fall off of a horse if swinging something. (He also would have almost no leverage on the swings!)
Now that we have trailers, coming here every day is like free basing a weak supply. It gives me what I need to tide me over but at this point I just want the pure stuff. lol Slowest lead up to any show ever!
Well, there are people who are convinced that Ghost is Jon’s Horcrux, so: maybe.
I’m going with my gut, that hooded rider hitting the wight with his ball of fire on a chain is Benjen!
Either way, we are probably going to be shocked/surprised to see who it is..
I think the guy on the horse is Benjen, but as the poster upthread said, it’s sort of pointless to speculate. It could also be Hodor on a horse, being warged by Bran.
Did anyone else watch that longer set of interviews and get the sense that it added some fuel to the idea that Ramsay kills Roose?
And does a new face solve the height difference? Enquiring minds want to know.

I did not. Just watched the ones posted above. Link please?
I recently finished playing an episode in telltale and a sudden realization hit me… We could assume that Bran is definitely leaving the cave. But where to? after that episode about the north grove thing in telltale, it suddenly came to me that Bran might actually go even further north. I think I remembered something about some news (I just can’t remember if it was for the show or for the books, Im still trying to find the link) that we would see even further in the north this season (or in the books, I just can’t remember when did I saw that news, damn it). I don’t know, maybe this might be a new quest given to him by the 3 eyed raven maybe to learn more about the others or destroy/confront something there… Im just assuming here so I just wanna drop it here and see what you guys think…
Sunday will be 3 weeks and it’s already Thursday! Don’t add more time to the countdown lol!
For all the people complaining about the Jon topic, he is being talked about more than any character in this post which has nothing to do with him!
Jack Bauer 24: Sunday will be 3 weeks and it’s already Thursday! Don’t add more time to the countdown lol!
I hope April will go by fast up until the 24th, March went by faster than expected.
I was referring to the link posted by FreeParking, above. Here it is again.
Meera’s been hanging with Jeremy Corbyn. This means she’ll be renouncing her highborn status and joining the Brotherhood without Banners 😉
Thanks for the link. Liam’s response is interesting about him and Carice’s characters having no reason left or are they there to do something else…
Thanks! Pod and Theon will spend time together in Season 6, I think, given their actors were interviewed together.
Also, I get this idea that Sansa-Littlefinger is a nice parallel to Jaqen-Arya. Both Stark daughters initially think these older men are helping them, are “father-figures” to them. At some point, one or both will finally realize that both LF and Jaqen were just using them for their own goals.
Did the runtime for the next episode appear yet for season 6 or is that tomorrow?
Connor: I hope April will go by fast up until the 24th, March went by faster than expected.
Yeah March went by fast (thanks to the trailer and updates) and we don’t even need to wait another full month (31 days)…just 24 more!
Brienne to “burst forth” in Season 6 and “meet new characters”.
I think that little snippet with the hooded figure is somewhere north of the wall…that severely limits the number of “people” it could be…and…remember the little snippet of Meera wearing a coat, out of the cave and kinda crouching behind a rock (from the camera operators behind the scenes I think?) In the snippet with the hooded figure, on the right corner in the back…isn’t that the same rock, with maybe Meera hiding behind it? LOL. If that is indeed Meera, maybe, then that hooded figure is either You Know Who (show version, designed to save the heavy CGI to Dragons and Direwolves) or maybe the long-lost Benjen?
I wonder what stupid jokes the GOT’s marketing team comes up with tomorrow.
I may be repeating myself but what’s up with those titles? Will we not get even the first one? The policy of secrecy is getting over-the-top. Just release them so we can have something interesting to speculate on instead of the same old crap about you-know-who.
I think they should start asking if Jon stark is alive. Or if Jon Targaryen is alive.
I wonder if Arya’s going to receive word of Jon’s death. The murder of the Lord Commander sounds like news sailors would pass around and it could certainly break her down.
This is what I am looking forward to the most. I think Meera has something special up her sleeve which we are not yet privy to.
As if anyone but the North cares about the Night’s Watch and what happens at CB. The news of Jeor Mormont’s murder didn’t make a noise. Who would be there willing and in a position to send out word about Jon’s assassination? To who? And what would be the point?
I’m conflicted because I’m running a marathon the day of the premiere and one I want to come quickly and the other I need to take its damn time arriving.
On the bright side I’m running it dressed as a dragon, so I’m good to go for our screening party fancy dress (which is the next day. Because UK).
Fingers crossed that one of them is Mr Sulky Bastard.
I don’t know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it seems the person in the shot with the fireball horse rider is running towards the horse, not away.
Oh, how droll. Of course he would subtly throw in the idea of someone “not being a fatherly figure.” Do you know who else didn’t have a very good father figure? The Brothers Clegane.
And OF COURSE he would go around calling himself Isaac Hempstead Wright… IHW being an allusion to the International Herpesvirus Workshop, which is being held in Madison this year. And oh, just coincidentally (yeah right) Rory McCann’s latest project has him playing a blacksmith named Marston, which starts with an “Ma”, ends with an “on” and has 7 letters–JUST LIKE “MADISON”.
*Yawn* might as well just release a Cleganebowl promo poster at this point, HBO.
A new bunch of interviews with the cast. It’s in Mandarin (?), if anyone understands…
Ya know, everyone talks about how Jon is the core of this story, that it can’t move forward if he is dead or changes drastically. Isn’t that exactly what this story is about? He’s too stereotypical, he fits too many fantasy tropes, that’s exactly why Martin is going to pull the rug out from under us. I don’t think any of us truly know what’s going to happen, and I can’t wait to find out.
MeeraReed: I don’t know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it seems the person in the shot with the fireball horse rider is running towards the horse, not away.
I put a pic in the visitor posts on WOTW Facebook page. Please excuse my poor photo editing skills. I just tried to make it as bright as possible while still maintaining somewhat of an image quality.
We actually do know. It’s not speculation, it’s evidence. This myth about Martin being a great trope-subverter has gone too far. Sure, he does break some tropes, but his story has many that aren’t broken, characters who are cliche, and quite a few of them have a very thick plot armour, so the whole ‘anyone can die anytime’ theme is also a myth. The man has even incorporated revival into the story. Also it’s GOT we’re discussing, not ASOIAF. Actually in canon, it’s even more transparent you-know-who’s not done yet.
Meira on the “three Raven” and his magic skeptical, not sure this is not good for Titus, almost is.
Well, I’m not sure who Titus is supposed to be, but I’ll guess it’s Bran. Someone mentioned earlier that Isaac’s interview makes it seem like the Three Eyed Raven may not have some hidden agenda with training Bran, but if Google Translate can be trusted, Meera may have her doubts.
…so the sixth season will show the other side of Melisandre, will reveal more about her in the past, I can only say, which is very interesting.
Hmm, so we may be learning a bit more about Melisandre’s past as well.
Please don’t make me read that again…
As if anyone but the North cares about the Night’s Watch and what happens at CB. The news of Jeor Mormont’s murder didn’t make a noise. Who would be there willing and in a position to send out word about Jon’s assassination? To who? And what would be the point?
The murder of a leader by his own men might certainly get the tongues wagging. Sailors get bored and are happy to trade the latest news and gossip & Arya could easily overhear some of that gossip, brought to Braavos by tradesmen, etc, who overheard it from others who have sailed in and around Northern ports. They don’t even need to have visited the Wall, just heard the news from someone after, say, the NW sends letters out announcing the new Lord Commander. It would be excellent motivation for Arya to return to Westeros. The bond between her and Jon is something special and the show made sure to emphasize it. I’m expecting it to lead to something, either an action on Jon’s part or one on Arya’s.
As for Mormont, well, we weren’t exactly in Braavos if and when the news arrived, were we?
This first, and the next, there are more behind the story and related, another day it.
means that there’s more to come, we have more joyous interviews to decipher!
Great interviews! keep em coming please. I’m excited for Bran’s storyline this year,I hope it helps in blending the scattered storylines. Sidenote: A girl has a huge crush on a man & his voice. 😉 …..the girl is me btw
I think there is a strong chance that Arya steals it, runs away from the waif & Jaquen, joins the theater troupe, sails to Westeros, possibly meets up with Sam in Oldtown, then rides North with murder in her eyes! Anything could happen 😉
I’m going to try to collect all the jon snow spoilers from Watchers on the wall to keep me occupied.
All these interviews are from HBO Asia and the company imports HBO shows into China.
My friend(book reader like me) was on a round table talk before these interviews w the casts. SHE MANAGED TO TRICKED Carice or our onion knight to give away this:
I’m not trolling, anyone who can read Chinese I can send you very direct link, it has been forwarded a lot on Weibo(Chinese Twitter) The night is long and full of terrors when a book reader got in the interview team when they thought they can let the guard down in Asia.

Is that was this means (from Selina’s interview)?
Liam if the large amount of information: “In addition, Burton and his son’s situation similar to ours, they also face the threat of cold winter with a heterologous ghost Bolton lost the legal right to rule the Northern Territory, also came to the black castle (this. Department spoilers! illegitimate child of war occurred in the black castle!), while Bolton and his son’s position has become strange, since they are the only twenty-two still do not respect each other in this threat, the role of mistrust, but no time to deal with other issues. “
Hmm, so we may be learning a bit more about Melisandre’s past as well.
Please don’t make me read that again…
I guess D&D are going to go a bit into the Melisandre POV chapter in Dance (and perhaps even beyond that?)…there’s a bit of interesting stuff going on in there about Mel not quite being what she seems…
BTW, Carise is also supposed to have said to the Italian media covering the SAG awards earlier in the year that “Winter will bring out the best out of Melisandre” (whatever that means.)
At some point, it seems, we might see Mel’s “real” appearance…
Hmmm…I dunno. If this is early in the season, and Ramsey thinks that Sansa is there…
George: Hmmm…I dunno. If this is early in the season, and Ramsey thinks that Sansa is there…
IF true, which i doubt it is, then that means we won’t get the
Connor: IF true, which i doubt it is, then that means we won’t get the
Well, I think we’re getting one thing or the other, but I think a “Show version” of You Know What is more likely?
Dallas: Isn’t that exactly what this story is about? He’s too stereotypical, he fits too many fantasy tropes, that’s exactly why Martin is going to pull the rug out from under us.
Quite the opposite is true. What makes SoI&F so different from most “epic” fantasy is that it is heavily character-driven, with the story arcs completely tied to the evolution of a few principle individuals. Lead characters can come and go in most fantasy stories because, really, they are not important: if there is any story at all, then it’s plot-driven. (And, of course, most of the time there is not any story, anyway.) GRRM even goes further: the strong parallelisms among particular lead characters really hammers home the stories.
It would be much more of a fantasy cliche if, for example, Jon is reborn as Azor Ahai (completely undermining 4 stories of character development), or if there is some other Deus ex Machina device of the sort that abound in fantasy novels. But having Jon die and just get replaced by another cog in the world-building engine also would fit in with the norms of fantasy literature, where “what” rather than “who” is important.
phantomstrife: This myth about Martin being a great trope-subverter has gone too far.
Indeed, that also is true. Moreover, I sometimes think that GRRMs fans think that he is going to break the tropes of modern character-stories rather than the tropes of fantasy tales. Many of the ways in which GRRM defies the tropes of epic fantasy is to adhere to the norms of the rest of literature.
Ravyn: And does a new face solve the height difference? Enquiring minds want to know.
Felt Pelt: Body Language Sweepstakes loser: Michael McElhatton
Yes, I was wondering why he was sitting in a self-protective posture. I doubt that it was cold under studio lights.
Not really. In the novel, we get the Pink Letter, which could well be followed by a Bolton foray upon the Wall. That would be disastrous, as the Wall can’t be defended from the south.
This would explain the battle we’re getting hints about on the show. It always seemed improbable to me that Jon or anyone would get together a bunch of wildlings and go after Winterfell. That would be absolutely suicidal, as the odds are the Northern lords would unite with the Boltons against the wildlings, and the wildlings themselves are not terribly effective against organized cavalry–Stannis cuts through 100,000 thousand of them like butter.
However, if the Boltons take the battle to the Wall, FORCING a battle…that would make far more sense. In that case, Jon or whoever would put together what force they could, and attempt to defend Castle Black, or waylay the Boltons on route, or whatever. I can see the Boltons uniting the North this way, as the wildlings are established in the north now, well past the Wall. They’d be seen as a threat.
heh, if I had a twin sister, then you would be her!
I would add that I have always wondered (well, OK: I’ve wondered for 5 years now) if the Pink Letter is the pebble that starts the avalanche where the Wall is concerned. The Watch cannot meet the demands of the letter: and even if the acquiesced as best as they could, then they still cannot hand over the two biggest prizes as those two are not at the Wall.
So, if the letter makes good on the threat, then who mans the Walls against the White Walkers?
Still, the sight of the giant kicking in the gate of what seemed to be Castle Black now has me doubting that will come to pass. Of course, we might be mistaken and it is some other gate instead: for obvious reasons, many of them will look a bit alike.
Bran will be able to walk because he will have learned how to warg his own self.
This is one reason why I always believed the Pink Letter was written by Ramsay. The Night Watch can’t meet that demand, which gives the Boltons reason to attack the Watch. That might be what Jon is trying to counter in his speech to the wildlings, right before his assassination. Something like that can still happen on the show, with the wildlings as Ramsay’s excuse.
WunWun could still wreck doors at Castle Black, in order to defend Jon’s body. I like the thought of giants shattering buildings.
In Bran’s first vision, while he is dream-falling, he sees the curtain of energy at the top of the world, and then beyond. The Three-Eyed-Raven says, “And now you know why you must live, because winter is coming.” Meaning what is threatening Westeros.
The WW machineries of terraforming Westeros to winter are beyond the energy curtain, and must be eliminated to save Westeros from permanent winter. Bran, Raven, and perhaps Benjen are the only humans who know this.
Maise: ” George can write pages and pages about a feast”

George: “Winter will bring out the best out of Melisandre” (whatever that means.)
It means she’ll stop being a cold bitch & cry about setting Shireen on fire. After the Onion Knight comes to rescue that damn Mel in distress, she’ll be convinced it was all a part of R’hllor’s plan for her. She will smugly gallop out of Castle Black.
What is the life of one bastard boy against a kingdom? Davos: Everything.
George: If this is early in the season, and Ramsey thinks that Sansa is there…
Maria: WunWun could still wreck doors at Castle Black, in order to defend Jon’s body. I like the thought of giants shattering buildings.
Who doesn’t? I want to see Wun Wun cut loose. (Of course, I want him to hang around long enough to meet a dragon, too.)
Rygritte: It means she’ll stop being a cold bitch & cry about setting Shireen on fire. After the Onion Knight comes to rescue that damn Mel in distress, she’ll be convinced it was all a part of R’hllor’s plan for her. She will smugly gallop out of Castle Black.
darkdadi: we would see even further in the north this season
IIRC that was about the show & I thought it would be a vision. It’s probably that vision in the trailer.
I know! But I really believe her, she was one of the translator for this interview, she personally complimented Carice, and the editor from HBO Aisa asked “Mel seems to be the only one cares about the whole picture” because of her opinion during the talk as a book reader.
BUT, we heard directly from Roose in S5 that a smart commander doesn’t abandon a well held position such as Winterfell. That’s when we get Ramsey & his BFF Ser Twenty Goodmen. Why would Roose just decide, fuck it, we’ll march to Castle Black.
This myth about Martin being a great trope-subverter has gone too far. Sure, he does break some tropes, but his story has many that aren’t broken, characters who are cliche, and quite a few of them have a very thick plot armour, so the whole ‘anyone can die anytime’ theme is also a myth.
According to the Pink Letter, Boltons won, so they no longer have immediate need to hide behind their fortifications.
According to the show, Boltons won, so no immediate danger.
Novels imply that Roose knows he’s isolated and hated, thanks to the Red Wedding, hence the wedding to fake Arya.
Show Roose says it: They’re isolated, no allies. Hence the wedding to Sansa. They’re not going to bolster their position by withdrawing.
Boltons need a cause, and the wildlings are it. North fears the wildlings, and Stannis and Jon allowed thousands of them past the Wall. Wildlings are the one issue on which the Northern lords can put aside their differences, unite, and attack.
So the Boltons lead the attack. From their point of view, this is a win-win: They have a cause no Northerner can disagree with. They’ll get allies, they’ll get to lead. Their odds of winning are excellent; the wildlings are not effective against an organized army. Outcome: They keep some of their allies. They’re seen as leaders who defended the North. They won. Not enough to undo the Red Wedding, but it’s something.
Of course, they know nothing about Littlefinger and the Vale.
Rygritte: he will take 20 of his best men to set fire to the Wall.
Hey, they could send the snow-sodden tents of Stannis’ army up in an instant blaze…setting a gigantic wall of ice on fire should be a piece of cake!
Maria: Their odds of winning are excellent; the wildlings are not effective against an organized army. Outcome: They keep some of their allies. They’re seen as leaders who defended the North. They won. Not enough to undo the Red Wedding, but it’s something.
And if they arrange it so that the houses most apt to oppose them bear the brunt of the battle against the Wildlings, well, then so much the better!
But I agree with you entirely. Look at it this way: if modern conspiracy theorists lived in Westeros, then they would rush to find assert that the Wildling invasion was a hoax contrived by the Boltons in order to unify the Northerners. This is one of those “almost too good to be true” situations for the Boltons.
Maria, The outcome will be different. Roose is gonna threaten Ramsay to not make him
rue the day he raped his mother which will make Ramsay “run away” with a portion of the armies to attack the wildlings & Jon after sending a letter demanding his playthings back.
Wun Wun will hulk smash enough of them for Ramsay to retreat back to Winterfell. With significant losses to the northern armies, Jon may think it’s time to strike to protect Sansa wherever she is with reborn vengeance.
