Blossom from PPG- Even though she is not a tomboy, she is still tough. And, she's pretty calm even in the face of a situation (except for the time when she worries about failing on a test.) I like her for that- being calm and not showing fear. Even though she is unconfident at times, she can still kick butt. But, she has some drawbacks to herself that I dislike about her- she can be a bit childish or immature, and she is quick to argue with her tomboyish sister. Another drawback is, she is very bossy.
Buttercup- She is an early badass in the PPG series, but softened a bit when being accused of being overly aggressive. She sometimes shows fear (like the time she tries to overcome her fear of spiders and some other insects most girls consider "icky." Another time is when she encounters the RRB for the second time. It is a bit of a disappointment when she is a bit helpless at first in the episode the boys are back.) Sometimes acting tough can get her into danger, and Blossom would have to protect her from death (like the time she almost gets hit by Mojo's laser.) Her PPGZ counterpart softened too, much to my disappointment. But, I still like Buttercup!
I did not include Bubbles because she is a bit like a helpless Mary Sue. I don't like her- she is not as badass as her sisters! That is not what I expected when I watch some episodes- she is a bit too emotional and naïve!
Kim Possible, from Kim Possible- She may not be a tomboy, but she still kicks butt. Unlike some cartoon female characters, she does not need some saving. She still has to juggle school and family. She sometimes shows her sweet, romantic side. I adore her because she is awesome in her own way.
Kitty Pride- Though not said to be badass like many other badass females, she still kicks butt. She's been a member of X-men, New Mutants, Excalibur, and even an argent of S.H.I.E.L.D! Besides her powers, she is also very, very smart. She is a computer science genius, and fluent in five languages (especially the alien ones.)
Mara Jade- Ranged from smuggler, to Emperor Palpatine's right hand, to Jedi Knight. Though she has admittedly did some reprehensible things, she eventually saw the light and rebelled against the Dark Side of the Force, assisting in many battles for the Expanded Universe's New Republic and New Jedi Order.
Wonder Woman- She is a comic book superheroine. She endured WW 2, the women's rights movements, and the sexification of comic books. She is no doubt the most powerful woman in the comics, and she is a born leader. I think she's awesome and kicks butt as well. She is brave, fearless, and very strong!
