Fanpop Should we get some kind of notice from Fanpop when we lose a fan? That also goes for our personal clubs, too.

Most definitely! The same way we get a notice each time when we get a new fan, to our mailbox. This way, we would know right away who is no longer a fan, even when we suddenly lose a best friend, like I just lost one today.

Sounds like a good way to start drama.

I just lost one fan, Nuri__, and nobody told me anything. If no one else wants to know, okay then, but I would really like to know such stuff.

Got myself a second medal on this site, lost my very first fan at the same time. Go figure! :(

Would probably start more drama than anything, at least for losing a fan as an individual. Might not be so bad for a club.

I gotta agree that it might start drama. I also feel like it would kind of annoy me on a personal level anyhow. But then again, I don't particularly keep track of my fan count anymore between IRL stuff and that I just have so many.

Would this differentiate between losing a fan because someone un-fans you, and losing a fan because their account is suspended/they close it? Do you lose fans in the second scenario anyway? I've noticed that people are still listed as club members but I haven't looked if they're still fans of other members.

I agree with nearly everyone else who's commented - this would just cause drama. People would either just not care at all about a lost fan, and ignore it, or they'd be PMing that person and commenting on their walls asking "why aren't you my fan anymore?" and making a huge fuss.

#NoNoobs That goes for members of somebody's personal club. I don't really care how many members my own club has: 1 or 2 or even 0, but losing a fan, that's another story. I think it would be best if this site would send us a message each time we lose a fan. Like this one: „Hello Germany 101! You've just been removed from _______'s fanlist. That means that ____________ is no longer a fan of you. If you're okay with this, just do nothing, otherwise change your attitude and improve your social skills, as well as your behavior, so that you won't keep on losing any more fans. If you're looking for a reason this happened, don't ask us cause we don't know." Now, I know that most sites don't let the users know when they lose a friend, or subscriber, or follower, but I just think that we should know who doesn't like us so that we could remove that ex-friend from our fanlist. It took me some time to scroll down my fanlist and check every one of my fans just to see which one doesn't like me anymore. I don't think it would be that hard for this site to let me know when or if I lose another fan. I probably lost couple of fans right now, just for speaking my mind, so let me just say for the record that today, on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at 12:49 (that's pm for you!) I have 23 fans. So, if 1 minute later there are only 22 or 21 fans, then I don't need to ask for a reason: I lost a fan, or fans, over this comment. But, it's not just that we don't know who doesn't like us anymore, we have no idea who doesn't like our contribution either. There is a dislike option next to each video, or a picture, at least on this modern Fanpop, and I would like to know not only how many people like it, but also how many of them don't. That's how most social media sites work: you know right away how many likes and dislike some YouTube video got. It's a question of statistics really. If you would know that some of your videos has only 5 likes and 21 dislikes, it would make you think! It would make everybody think! Then you'd know you're uploading all the wrong videos to some club. Just saying. No need for any of you to unfriend me now, just because you don't agree with me!

#LowriLorenza89 Don't tell me you're not a bit curious about why somebody doesn't like you anymore. Or me, or anyone else on this site. It's part of our human nature to look for an answer, also a reason for everything, maybe even some explanation. I still don't know all about how this site works, but losing a friend is always personal, because you're not losing a book, or a car, or a phone, or something like that. Your friend is a living person, so of course it's personal! It doesn't really matter if you lose a friend IRL, or on this site: a friend is a friend! Unless it's your enemy and not a friend, but that's another story.

^I don't think of the people who fan me here as friends. I fan people because we have clubs in common, I like some content they've added or I agree to comments they've made, and I assume that other people fan me for similar reasons. If anyone un-fanned me, I'd think that they either disagree with one opinion strongly enough for it to cancel out the shared ones, or (more likely) they're childishly just adding then removing people all the time.

I don't really care about fans, I don't even know how many fans I have *shrugs*

As for personal spot, I joined fanpop before they added that feature, and I'm okay with that because I don't see the necessity for that, so I wouldn't have wanted one anyways.

@LowriLorenza89 you don’t lose a fan in this case. You can go through your fanlist and see those who removed their account or got them deleted are still there.

Ok, now well, there is a reason social networks don’t tell you about who unfriends/unfollows/unfans you: because you’re not supposed to take it personally. Even though we do that, social networks issues aren’t meant to be taken as real life issues. I can unfan you simply because I don’t know you enough or cause I never really talked to you or maybe cause I don’t identify with what you post. Someone may have fanned you just to be polite cause you fanned them first, but they may see no reason anymore. This has nothing to do with them not liking you as person and you shouldn’t worry that much about it.
