If it's a club you think they'd like, e.g. its related to clubs you already share

There's nothing wrong with that.

If you have a personal spot, or maybe someone finally made a spot for a character/show you both like, then I don't see the problem. It's annoying being asked to join things you've never heard of or you dislike, though.

Idk, I just feel like it'd be embarrassing for me if someone advertised a spot I made on peoples' walls.

I agree with @dontmindmeyo, and I'd also like to add that the only time i'm not bothered by people asking me to join their spots (spots about themselves I mean) is when I'm friends with the person or have been talking to them for a while. When someone I've never heard of just adds me and then posts on my wall that I should join their spot I become immediately annoyed and don't even want to talk to the user, let alone join their spot. lol

I only ask people to join my spot, if they asked me to join theirs first. Sorta like a return the favor thing.

Being somewhat new (less than a year), I appreciate it when someone suggests a club that I may be interested in. I know I already belong to many clubs already, but I have many interests. I also like to introduce people to some of the clubs I am in - some of them I set up. Being from Canada, I realize some of our music, TV shows, etc. may not be known world wide and I would like to let some people know about the clubs.

If someone asks me to join a club that I really don't agree with, I would let them know why I do not want to join that particular club.

How else are people supposed to advertise their clubs? It's how people advertise their blogs or YouTube channels. What and where they advertise is their problem. But is it allowed? Yes, why not?

The problem lies in the fact that I don't want my wall used as a billboard. Where they advertise is their problem...until it is done on my wall. Then by all means, it is my problem.

Yeah, but I feel like a jerk doing so. I pretty much guilt trip myself into not doing it. So in the end I actually just closed my wall off to only friends.

To me it's depends-If it's a club one thinks that person their asking to join would be interested in the topic of the club I don't see why not,but if they aren't I'm no so sure.

Sometimes it feels awkward/embarrassing when people ask you to join a spot. A couple of times I've literally just joined spots because I felt pressured into doing so, and since joining I've ignored it completely. I don't contribute to them, nor do I join in with other peoples' contributions. I'm just there to make up the numbers and make the spot look more popular than it is by having one more member! I guess I'll try and sneak away from them someday! XD

But for me it mostly depends on whether or not the spot is something I might be interested in. I once got invited to a club that looked like a replica "random" club (don't know why anyone made it and don't know why I got asked to join) but I ignored it and, thankfully, I wasn't pestered, so that was okay.

However, I've also had a few incidents where people have looked at the spots I'm already in, noticed there was something I'd likely be interested in but hadn't already joined, and invited me. That makes much more sense (and sometimes I will actually join them too). I just don't get it when people try to get others to join spots that have nothing to do with their interests. It's like they're only doing it to boost the numbers.
