It's just me or Fanpop is not what it used to be?

and I don't want it to either

^@makintosh, it's not just you. Unfortunately, I can practically feel the site dying. I, myself, haven't been on as much lately and pretty much all I do is icontests. I'm not sure if it's the recent changes [different layout, no screencaps etc] or if people are just losing interest. I'm not sure what could change that.

^ I still remember the old good days *sigh* Rethinking the site is a MUST or should be, otherwise Fanpop is doomed to extinction.
And, yes. I also think that the not-so-recent-changes had something to do with the site dying, specially the screencaps issue.

it's just not as active as it used to be, even the "active" spots aren't exactly what i'd call active! it's depressing.

the recent changes didn't help either, i'm used to it by now but seriously, the banners look disgusting. the font of the text and the black smudge on the left side of it... why? who seriously thought that was a good idea? banners are a huge part of this website and it just makes the whole website look tacky IMO. my 2 year old nephew could do a better job...

^ Yeah, banners and screencaps were an important part of this site, and in many cases, the sole and main reason some users visited Fanpop.

Anyway, I do think the problem with the lack of activity is more complex than just that. It could be the layout, or even the web's design, not to mention the way the image gallery is displayed.

^Yes, I've made so many banners for this site it's crazy. And now they all look like crap. Can't say that wasn't a blow.

I agree about the site losing appeal as well as the posts above me but Idk about the MySpace thing since I'm not really familiar with that site. *sighs* I'm already in college and with my hectic schedule, I just don't know how much longer I'll last because I just don't spend time in here as much as I used to. :/

But yeah, fanpop has just gotten a bit stale. I've been here almost 5 years and have only lost interest since screencaps were eliminated. Screencaps brought me to the site, and without them I have no motivation to come on much anymore.

Honestly in my eyes I love it just as much as when I started however,a lot of things have been happening on it for me recently but I still enjoy my time on here just as much.

as long as fanpops about fangirling & fanboying people will enjoy it .. fanpops always been an underground liking , not big on popularly . so this isnt a case of how the mighty falling .... but as for getting replaced for underground liking ... it could be replaced completely by tumblr

I didn't come on for months (only reason because of Breaking Dawn spoilers) and when I came back, everything was changed and all the good people left.
I think something should be added, maybe just a game you can play with other fans? :\
