The more you rate the redder (I don't think that's a word) it gets, So if someone hasn't rated anything there's no red border around it, if someone rated loads of content it's really red.

Actually, I think it's red if you've rated something/s that has been removed from Fanpop for whatever reason.

well you probably already know it but it starts glowing red after you rate like something around 300 things (not sure of the number i could be off) but once you reach a ceratin number of ratings it glows red
