HELP ME : A rant about undescriptive questions and ineligible text speak

There is many different rants on Fanpop etiquette but one i havent seen is an article on the questions titled
HELP ME!!!1 These questions just put me in a terrible mood as do the questions where you cant understand what they are saying

Me in a terrible mood

These questions grate on my already fragile nerves so i think it is best if i explain why and maybe others have similar reasons

, the sheep and the pixies but unfortunately despite all those wonders I have terrible internet connections.When i wish to help fellow fanpoppers with their problems i would appreciate it if they had a descriptive Description because there is nothing worse than waiting 7 minutes to see a question that you don't know how to answer
.ie. if you had a problem with downloading an application for example iTunes, a good description would be:
problem downloading iTunes on my Mac
and then you go into detail about your server etc.This would make me very happy

After my 7 minutes of waiting for my 7 year old computer to load the question,the worst thing is to not understand what they are saying eg.

THS STRTED ABOT 2 MNTHS AGO.....ETC.

May i ask what is wrong with using proper english sure text speak is ok in texting but in fanpop you have plenty of room to say what you want.

julesb666 I have to agree with you in certain ways, this can be quite annoying but MOST questions are structured like this these days and I've found I have to just except it. I find for example a LOT of people don't spell properly and it's not text talk just 'Can't be bothered' talk, as we have spell check after all, so there's really no excuse. When a question is asked and in plain, good old fashioned, legible English, I find it more that pleasantly supprising.

germany123 ditto on both points of course- also hate the HELP ME request because its confusing if you want to SEARCH for something..then again who am i kidding..no one uses the search engine

How To Get A Verified Fanpop Account!

I can't help but notice lately that a lot of people have been creating Verified Fanpop Accounts. At first, I thought it was some kind of program Fanpop put in order. Then I realized that it's just another way that people are faking 'celebrity accounts.'

But, real or not, it's actually a really cool thing to do to your profile! And it's really easy, so anybody can do it!

Directions:
- Open your profile for editing. In the section where you would usually put your last name, copy or type in: ✔ Verified Fanpop Account

Congradulations, your officially your actual self^^

OK, everybody, let's all just take some deep breaths. I've been looking at comments within the last half hour about the new Fanpop layout that has thrown all of us for a loop.

There was a similar outcry of disbelief over, what I am choosing to call, the link. I am here writing this to gather everyone's collective panic and misgivings into one place, as well as to try and look at the positives of these recent changes, in an attempt to placate some of your fears.

First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. AH! OMIGAWD! FANPOP LOOKS WEIRD AND IS ALL DIFFERENT! It's like Facebook and YouTube...

Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has posted something good. Back in my day we used to give props if someone posted a good video, or said something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
Props are small medals that you can give to other users if you see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
You can give users props by going to their profile and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message...

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this article because I believe the new wall system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on fanpop for quite some time now, and I’ve received and given quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the props I received were ‘real props’. Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.

My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a month and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on fanpop i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?

It felt like that unfortunately

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of images to, but enough have been added by other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

The Fanwhore: Have you ever been added by someone, and then when you went to their profile to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new fans in the last hour.
