This was originally posted in the One Tree Hill spot but a user asked that it be posted here as well. I post a lot of things to Fanpop, especially images. Something that in my opinion is very important, is giving credit where it is due. If you find something on the web and want to share it, then feel free to post it. However, it is extremely disrespectful to claim that you created that content if you didn`t or simply not bother to credit.
Lately I`ve been coming across a lot of images of say a celebrity where the user who uploaded the picture, gives themselves credit. It is certainly possible that you snapped that picture but when the said photo is tagged, then it is not yours to claim. This is a perfect example of link. I am specifically showing you where I got that image. This is a link of how to give credit. This user claims that they made that screencap but you can clearly see Hilarie Burton`s website on the right hand corner. I wasn`t going to call anyone out but this needs to stop! I will report every single user who I see doing this. How hard is it to copy and paste a url? Putting that you got something from "live journal" or "somewhere on the internet" is not proper credit. Stop being lazy and give proper credit. Did you know that if the creators of the things you are claiming are yours want, they can take legal action? People spend a lot time creating the things we post so give them recognition!

I LOVE fanpop! I wish I was here years earlier ! It thrills me to no end that I can talk to people from all over the world! I have met some really lovely, charming, friendly people here! I met my new husband here! We can't be any happier! A fan of ours even made a club about us! (it's the Speter club!) Thanks sapherequeen! I fanned (and they fanned me back!) 2 of the fab 4, Dave and papa ! They found out about Peter and I meeting here then getting married! They were very happy and congratulated us! That was soooo cool ! Sorry I don't know the other 2 :/ Random is really fun because I can post random images! My favorite club is 'God-the-Creator' and of course 'Speter' ~LOL~ The only thing I don't like is the childish behavior of some of the people. And the hate :P Over all, there is more good than bad :)
Picks are a way to state your opinion, or just find out what other people think. You might post a pick to find a new icon, or other's favorite foods. I like the way you can sometimes add a choice, which makes your opinion different.
Picks may also work as a school project: Example:Question: do you have a brother/sister? Project: take a survey and see how many people have a brother or sister.
Picks are a way to state an opinion without starting an argument, or sometimes they are not to state an opinion.
Adding images to picks is fun, too. some images are goofy, others can really fit in. It is creative to add images, and some times important, such as if you ask, "who's cuter?" you'll need to put images on the pick.
I like picks becuase they really are a way to state your opinion. They are a reminder that everyone has an opinion.
And that is why I love picks.
