Content that can be saved in your favorites (e.g. images, forums etc) section will have a green "save" button.
Clicking that will automatically save it. To see your favorites click on the "favorites" section on the bottom of your profile.
Clicking "more favorites" will open a list where you see all your saved items.
You will also find the red "drop" button that will remove items from the list.
