Fanpop Question

I have no problem uploading images to image galleries, BUT …

I have no problem when I try to upload images to a club’s image gallery or to my own pictures in my profile, but I can’t seem to upload pictures at all when I click on the “Add an image” tab in the picks, answers, and pop quiz areas. All that happens is that green circle comes to indicate that something is loading, but nothing ever comes.

It is not a pop-up blocker issue, as I have tried without my pop-up blocker on. Also, as stated before, I can upload images with success to club galleries and to my own profile.

I wish I knew why this is happening. I’m a bit disappointed that I can’t add images to things like picks because whenever I post a pick, I have to do it with just text.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

It used to be that there was a known image upload issue with certain operating systems if specific firewall/antivirus software was running. Apparently the protective software felt that the image upload feature was a threat and silently blocked it. I do not know if this is still the case.

Also, it has to be pointed out that, sad to say, different features on the site have been implemented in different ways. As an example, the text formatting that you can do almost anywhere on Fanpop *doesn't work in Answers* (which is why I have to use asterisks there, instead of the normal [b] tags). Different staff members work on the different features at different times, and sometimes this means an inconsistent user experience. Sometimes, too (as with any web site), the staff makes changes that haven't been tested by the users, and so mistakes or other unpopular changes enter (like getting rid of ratings). If it's still not working for you, it should be reported using the "contact us" link at the bottom of any page.

If you do submit a report, try to provide more detail rather than less. Of particular interest is what browser you are using, what OS you are running (or device, if you're using a mobile handset), and specific URLs of the pages in question. You may get a response of "what antivirus software are you using?" or "try again with the antivirus software switched off temporarily."
