Keywords are integral to searches performed on Fanpop, but they don't appear anywhere on the site except for the first three features of Fanpop: links, images, and videos.
With these three features, the only place you see the keywords for them is when you are actually looking at the image/video/link (ie, not the thumbnail) with the title, description, comments, the whole shebang. The keywords are links, as you suggest, which point to a filtered search of that kind of content (links/images/videos) with that same keyword IN THAT CLUB. Keywords in any other kind of content simply help in searches, they don't have visible keywords because you couldn't do a list of them in the same way that you can for links, images and videos. Also, these searches happen within the given club, so clicking the keyword in a club for other clubs with the same keywords within that club would only result in that club. That's why they're not visible for other features.
That said, if you were actually not seeing keywords for links, images or videos appear after you submitted them, that's a bug. If it's still happening, report it using the "contact us" link at the bottom of any page.
