Chapter 3

I've never had a dream like this befor. It was dark, everything was black. I turned and walked for hours and when i called no one responded to me, only my echo. After hours of walking around i found a mirror and what I saw was horrible. It was me.. but i wasnt awake. My eyes were purple like someone gave me 2 black eyes. I was so pale. My blonde shiny hair was a dull looking yellow. My brown eyes were sad, dull brown, like a tree after it rains and it has no leaves to protect itself. I gently and slowly touched the mirror. Then it shattered.

I woke up startled and confused. You know the 5 seconds when you wake up from a dream and you dont know how you got to where you are? I was having one of those moments. I was in my living room, on the couch but I was laying on Tyler. I carefully looked up at his face, trying hard not to wake him. He was sleeping, of course the sky outside was a deep dark gray. He had his arm around me and his head was laying on the arm rest. He looked so peaceful it hurt. He looked like a God sent down from heaven. I gently lay my head back down on his chest, looking at the TV clock. It was 3 o'clock in the morning. I slowly closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

I woke up to a groaning noise, like the sound of someone who doesnt want to get out of bed. I knew Tyler was up, then i felt his eyes on me and he chuckled. I sighed and opened my eyes squinting in the sudden brightness of a new day. After my eyes adjusted i turned my head up to look at him. He was smiling down at me. I could tell he just woke up because his eyes were a deep, deep blue.

"Good Morning." He said chuckling.

"Morning." I said yawning and smiled. "How'd you sleep?"

"Pretty well actually yourself?" He chuckled.

"Pretty good. What time is it?" I asked as I looked at the TV. "Wow its already noon." I said shocked, and sat up on his lap and streched.

"Yeah. I guess I should go home." He said sitting up,keeping me on his lap.

I sighed. "Yeah I guess." I said standing up.

"I'll be back later. Then we can decide wat do to." He said as he stood up smiling.

"Ok see ya in a bit." I told him, giving him a hug.

"All right. Later." He said hugging me and turning to the door to leave.

I yawned and streched again as I heard the door shut, after he left I went to take a shower and clear my thoughts. Why did I have that odd dream? Why did I black out yesterday? 'Ok one at a time'I told myself. 'Why did i have that odd dream?' I tried to think of an answer but came up blank. 'Ok next question. WHy did i black out yesterday?' After thinking and thinking i still didnt have an answer. "Damn it" i said softly to myself.

I decided the shower wouldnt work and got out and got dressed. I grabbed a pair of Jeans and a red camisole and white top. Walking downstairs my headache came back. I clutched the railing so hard my skin turned whiter than it usually is. Taking deep breaths helped but i slowly walked down the stairs. 'What is wrong with me?' I thought, 'THis is not normal.' I finally made it down the stairs when the front door opened.

"Hey." Tyler said coming through the door.

"Hey." I said cringing as the door shut. It felt like a million fireworks went off all at once right in front of you.

"Are you ok?" He asked coming towards me.

"Yea I'm fine." I lied.

He saw right through that. "No your not. Where's your mom and dad?" He asked walking me to the couch.

"Probably left for work already. I never heard them. They must be really mad at each other. They must have not seen us..." I said trailing off. Instant silence. And this silence was awkward, even for Tyler.

"Yeah about last night...Clair.."

"No its ok. Nothing happened right?" I said a little embarassed. If he knew about how I had a big crush on him it would ruin our friendship.

"Clair I have to ask you something."

"Ok, shoot." I said smiling, trying to make it less awkward than it already is.

"Clair. You and I have been friends for a long time." He began.

"Yea since the beginning of this school year."

"Well Clair I-" He said but the phone ringing on the wall cut him off.

"Come on." I said walking carefuly to the kitchen to answer the phone. "Hello?" i said into the reciever.

"CLAIR WERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" the voice boomed.

"Dad?" I asked?

"YES! WHERE WERE YOU LAST NIGHT?" he boomed. My father wasnt happy.

"I was sleeping on the couch." I replied. Trying hard to keep my voice steady.

"THATS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH ANSWER! WHEN I GET HOME YOU BETTER BE HOME!" he boomed then the line went dead.

“Isn’t it kind of weird and ironic that Alaric who is a vampire hunter is now teaching us to kill a vampire hunting army?” Caroline pointed out.
“Ironic, maybe, but not weird” Elena commented. “Ric can teach us their weaknesses. Besides we’re not going to kill anyone”
“Except Veronica” Damon added dark and bitter. Elena slapped his chest. “We’re not killing anyone” Damon raised his eyebrows. “I’m serious, Damon. I don’t want anyone to get hurt” Elena said sharp.
“Not even her? You know she wouldn’t hesitate to kill you, so why are you so determined to keep...

Back in Hell, Cas could barely keep his eyes open, but each time he was about to lose conscious the demon made another cut in his already mutilated upper body.
While the demon enjoyed his assignment Meg tried to free herself. Her wrists were pierced with hooks and they hurt terribly, but she figured if Cas could handle her pain and his own, she would be able to get through this.
“You’re so awfully quiet, Cassie” the demon said. “Why so asocial?”
The demon pierced the sword in Cas’ side, looking provocative at the angel. “Come on, scream or cry, I don’t care”
Cas looked up with...

Sam was back at the motel, when the door opened and Ellen and Jo came in. Sam looked up and his eyes widened. “Jo” he sighed relieved. He walked to her and threw his arms around her. “You’re alive, thank God”
“Yeah” Jo said, tapping Sam’s shoulder.
Sam scratched his neck. “Eh, do you want some coffee? I can make some” he suggested.
“No, don’t bother, we’re good” Ellen said.
“It’s no bother” Sam said. “I was going to make some anyway” And thus he walked to the kitchen.
“Where’s Dean? I’d like to see him. He wasn’t in his room anymore” Jo said.

My first dislike is when a fan fiction is badly written. I can overlook the occasional mistake, but when a work is filled with errors in spelling, grammar or punctuation, this spoils the story. I don't want to have to struggle to understand what's actually written. It looks unprofessional, pulls me out of what I'm reading and ruins the illusion that the fan fiction could be an addition to or alternate version of the canon story. I understand that some people might not be writing in their first language, or they could be dyslexic or just poor at English, but in such cases they could use a beta...

A surprising amount of people have trouble with posting their stories up (or maybe it was me who figured it out too fast, I dunno), so this is a little step-by-step guide on how to publish your fanfiction over at ff.net.

Meh. Rant #1: Copy-and-paste in fanfiction profiles.
This won't have too many rants, just what I feel on a whim.

I hate copy-and-paste stuff in fanfiction profiles. Seriously. They just clutter up your profile and make a bunch of meaningless trash.

The stuff that's supposed to make you cry? No way. It's not making me cry. Why? Because I've read it a million times. Am I heartless because I don't copy and paste? No. I donate money. I help people. I care about others. I do not copy and paste stupid stuff on my profile. It makes those...

That's one of the biggest issue fan fiction communities faces: Incorrect spelling, grammar and punctuation. You can have the best and most creative plot around, but if your story has too much spelling and grammar mistakes, most readers will hit the back button. These things matter a lot, and the problem is, many writers don't realize that. A story needs to look appealing in order for a reader to like it. Readers should be able to get sucked into the story, but when there is wrong spellings and punctuation everywhere, they can't get pulled into the story, because every mistake is reminding them...

Tyler woke up with a burning pain on his chest. Someone was caressing his exposed chest with a vervain flower.
“Good evening, Tyler” a woman said. It wasn’t Veronica. She had a paper bag with her, probably full of vervain and wolfsbane. Her hand disappeared in the bag, but she withdrew her hand she was holding up a sandwich. Tyler raised his eyebrows, something that didn’t go unnoticed. “What? A girl’s got to eat, right? And I don’t know how long I’ll be in here, because that totally depends on you”
“Why? If you’re going to kill me, why not just do it?” Tyler snapped...

Rachel stared at her eldest daughter, crying of happiness and grief. The last time they had seen each other Rachel had told Kelsey about her true nature and things didn’t end well between them. Now all Rachel wanted was for Kelsey to become solid so she could take her in her arms like any normal mother would.
“Are you…a ghost?” she asked. “Why haven’t you try making contact with me? Why now?”
“We tried, mom” Amber replied. “When Derek dug up our graves on Veronica’s command, he didn’t just release our bodies, but our spirits as well. We tried to reach you, but like Jeremy...

“I’m the one getting you out of jail” Stefan pointed out.
“And I’m the one still waiting for that to happen” Rachel responded with raised eyebrows. She tried to look beside Stefan. “How did you get in here? I mean, with all the deputies and the sheriff”
“I used the backdoor” Stefan smirked mischievous. He took the bars and wrecked them. He took Rachel’s hand and pulled her out of the cell. “Let’s get out of here”

“Where are we going?” Rachel asked when Stefan dragged her along at a rapid pace.
“I need you to meet someone” Stefan responded. He stopped at Mystic...

Gabe’s body was lying on a table in the basement of the Salvatore Boarding House. Stefan was leaning forward to get a closer look, when he heard a door open and close.
“I’m down here!” he yelled, before the visitor could call him. Rushing down the stairs and an instant later Tyler appeared. “Glad you could come so fast”
“You said it was important” Tyler replied scrupulously.
“It is” Stefan confirmed. He nodded at the body. “I need you to…sniff this one. I want to know who killed him”
“You want me to sniff him?” Tyler asked with raised eyebrows.
“Pretty much” Stefan...

Elena parked her car at the Boarding House. Caroline had taxed her with the message to get her ass there ASAP. She opened the door and looked inside.
“Damon!” she called.
Damon appeared in the hallway, frowning. “What are you doing here?”
“Caroline taxed me” Elena said, waving her phone. “Hello to you, too, btw” She tried to look over Damon’s shoulder. “What’s going on?”
Before Damon could answer Caroline appeared.
“Elena, what are you doing here?” she asked, but in a completely different tone than Damon. “Come on” she continued as she took Elena’s hand and...

Rebekah stormed downstairs into the sitting room where Elena was still sitting on the couch.
“What happened?” she asked worried when she saw Rebekah’s face. Rebekah didn’t answer, but raced to Elena, grabbed her neck and attacked her.
Elena screamed and Rebekah tightened her grip.
“Hey!” Damon shouted and he rushed to Rebekah. He grabbed her hair and swayed her into the room. He bit his wrist and held it against Elena’s lips.
“No” she groaned. “No vampire blood”
Damon pressed his wrist against her lips and forced her to drink. Elena’s neck healed and she relaxed.

The door of the Boarding House slammed open and Stefan entered the house, with Katherine still in his arms.
“Stefan, are you all right?” Rebekah asked worried as she quickly got up. She walked to him, but Stefan headed for the stairs.
“Where’s Damon?” Elena asked when she didn’t see Damon coming in.
“He…he stayed behind. There was something he had to do” Stefan said vague.
“Stefan” Elena protested unsatisfied.
“He’ll explain everything when he’s back” Stefan replied impatient. He turned to Rebekah. “Could you bring some blood bags?”
Rebekah reluctantly went to...

“They took Katherine? Why?” Damon asked dismayed.
“They didn’t take her. They just…they won’t let her go” Derek said agitated. “Like I said, she was upset and she was in the mood for some kills. But Ronnie had already summoned us to capture you, so when Katherine came we could easily overpower her”
“You mean you took her by surprise” Damon snapped disgusted. Derek shrugged uneasy. “Yeah…Ronnie shot a few arrows in her back and Rachel snapped her neck” he explained.
“Who the hell is Rachel?” Damon asked frowning and squeezing his eyes.
“She’s Kelsey and Amber’s...

Jeremy parked his car at the address Veronica had given him. She was waiting for him outside.
“What are those signs?” Jeremy asked, pointing at the signs on the wall.
“They’re to keep ghosts out” Veronica explained.
“Ghosts?” Jeremy asked skeptic.
“Yeah, you know, dead people” Veronica said. “You can’t see the signs during the day, because it’s fluorescent paint”
“So, ghosts can’t enter” Jeremy said slowly.
“Well, they can travel with mediums, but you’re not a medium” Veronica replied obviously. She squeezed her eyes and cast Jeremy an exploratory glance....

Katherine was standing by the punch bowl. She looked around to make sure no one was watching, before she conjured a small bottle and poured some of its content in the bowl. She stirred with the ladle to mingle the alcohol with the punch.
“I saw that”
Katherine smirked and turned around. Stefan was standing behind her, his hands in his pockets.
“And what is that, Mr. Salvatore?” she asked. She took a cup and poured some punch in it.”Can I seduce you to a sip?” she whispered while she held the cup against his lips.
Stefan accepted the cup and drank. He raised his eyebrows. “Are you...
