Amber was lying on the bed, her hands and feet tied. Jeremy was sitting on his office chair, watching her from a safe distance.
“Let me go” Amber said. “Please, let me go”
Jeremy didn’t move. He wished Kelsey would get back soon. It had taken him all his strength to tie Amber up.
“Let. Me. Go!” Amber screamed. She moved her body up and down and pulled her hands to make them loose.
“Sssh! Shut up!” Jeremy said when he heard footsteps on the stairs.
“Jeremy?” Alaric said. “Is everything okay?”
“Eh, yeah, I’m watching a movie on my computer” Jeremy replied, with his hand on Ambers mouth. “Sorry, I’ll put my earphones in”
“Okay” Alaric said.
“Aaahh” Jeremy exclaimed.
“Jeremy?” Alaric said startled. The latch went down.
“It’s nothing” Jeremy hastily said. “I bumped my knee to my desk”
The latch went up again. “Okay” Alaric said. “We’ll have dinner soon”
“Yeah, thanks” Jeremy said and he sighed relieved as he heard Alaric going back downstairs. He looked at his bleeding hand. “You bit me” he said upset.
“She did what?”
Jeremy turned around and saw Kelsey at his window. He showed his hand.
“Damn it, Amber. You should be thankful Jeremy took care of you” Kelsey said. Amber raised her eyebrows. “It’s been a while since I last picked up a dictionary, but I’m pretty sure that tying someone up is not the definition of ‘taking care of someone’”
“Do you have the cure?” Jeremy asked, but Kelsey didn’t have to answer. Her face said it all. “I’m sorry, Am” she said hoarse.
“Ah, well… told you so” Amber said. Kelsey looked at Jeremy. “I know this is weird and in a way rude, but could you leave us alone for a moment?”
“Yeah, sure, I have to have dinner anyway” Jeremy said soft. He got off the bed and walked outside of his room.
Kelsey walked to the bed and untied her sister.
“Thanks” Amber said grumpy, rubbing her wrists.
“How bad is it?” Kelsey referred to the bite. Amber rolled up her sleeve and showed her infected arm. “Okay, you can put it away now” Kelsey said, feeling a little sick.
“Kelsey” Amber said soft. “You promised me you would tell me what happened between you and our parents when I was ready for it. I don’t think I could be more ready”
Kelsey nodded. She was right. There was no better time. “Alright, but let’s get you outside. Fresh air will do you good”
She pulled Ambers arm over her shoulder and dragged her to the window. She stepped on the window-ledge and jumped.

Katherine was sitting on a chair. A row of small stakes pinched each arm to the arm-rests and a special kind of muzzle kept her mouth shut. The muzzle also had stakes, smaller than the arm stakes, and they pierced through Katherine’s jaws. “I’m sorry for the inconvenience” Veronica said demeaning. “Actually, I’m not. You had this coming. You broke in here, you threatened me” She took a chair and put it down in front of Katherine. “Such a pity Derek chose the wrong side. If he hadn’t Damon Salvatore would be sitting next to you”
Katherine managed to produce a smirk.
“Oh, don’t be so smug” Veronica sniffed. “I’ll get to him. He’s the one that killed Kelsey. He will die a slow and painful death” she said, more to herself than to Katherine. She stood up and walked to a corner, where she picked up her cross-bow. “In the meantime” she said, while she aimed the crossbow at Katherine. “I have you to have fun with” and she fired.

Damon raced outside and got into his car. He turned around the keys and drove onto the street. He then pushed the accelerator pedal and raced ahead.
He tried to keep his eyes open. He should have drunken some blood, if only just a little bit. He could almost feel his body breaking inside. But he had to stay awake long enough to get to the hospital.
Other drivers were hooting, because he drove from right to left and from left to right.
“Where did you get your driving license?!” someone yelled angry.
Damon felt his eyes fall down. The car drove for another few yards, while other drivers tried to avoid it.
Then the car drove off the road, turned over three times, landed on its upper side and caught fire.
