“So, you’re saying Stefan’s behind it?” Caroline asked breathless. “I don’t know. I hope not, but we can’t ignore the possibility that he could’ve” Damon said being realistic. Elena threw her arms around her knees, looking pale. “I don’t know, Damon” Caroline said. “It didn’t look very professional. I mean, when you feed on humans you erase your traces. This vampire didn’t. The body was still there and the blood wasn’t cleaned up. I don’t think this vampire has been doing this a lot” Elena looked up with a hopeful expression on her face. “So, there’s still a chance Stefan has nothing to do with it. That’s good. As long as he doesn’t kill anyone, no damage has been done” she said. Damon shook his head. “What?” Elena asked, a little annoyed. She felt like Damon was going to ruin her renewed hope. “Even if Stefan didn’t kill that person, still someone had to turn the vampire that did. There aren’t that many vampires in Mystic Falls” Damon said, trying to put Elena back on the ground. Elena averted to Katherine. “Maybe she did it” she said, nodding at her vampire look-a-like. Katherine widened her eyes. She walked towards Elena, lifting her hand to slap her, but Damon grabbed her wrist and put himself between Elena and Katherine. “You’re not touching her” he said soft but threatening. He turned at Elena. “You should be careful with your accusations. We need her” “Oh, but you can accuse Stefan?” Elena said upset. “I’m not accusing him” Damon said. “I just want you to keep your eyes open and not be blinded by your…love for him” “As should you” Elena shot back. “You don’t know if you can trust Katherine” “She didn’t do it” Damon sighed. “How would you know?” Elena said disdainful. “Oh, right, I forgot! You have been bonding with her. You’re now close friends, so you tell each other everything” Damon frowned his eyebrows and exchanged an uncomprehending look with Katherine. “Where’s this coming from?” he asked slowly. Katherine smirked. “Yeah, I’m dying to hear it” she said. Caroline looked from Elena to Damon and back as if she was watching a tennis game. Elena swallowed and put her hands on Damon’s upper arms. “I don’t trust her” she started. “She played with you. She used your love for her. She put you through so much pain, missing her, thinking she was locked up. But she never cared about you. She didn’t care you’ve been hurting for 145 years. She didn’t care you wanted to die when you thought she was dead”
Damon took her hands in his and looked her deep in the eye. “I love you for caring about me. I wouldn’t know what to do without you. But I could never fall for her all over again, while I’m loving you” He brought her hands to his lips and kissed her fingers. Elena felt how her heart beat fiercely. It felt like everything around them faded away and they were the only two people on the universe.
“Uhum” Katherine coughed. Damon let go of Elena and they turned around. “You’re having an audience”

Sam was waiting in line in a local snack bar. While he was waiting he watched the news, airing on a flat screen television, hanging on the ceiling.
“The thirty-five year old Zoey Allen has escaped the local hospital of Castle Rock, Colorado. Allen was brought into the hospital after she got stuck in a fire. Allen is extremely dangerous and wanted for several murders. She might be armed”
The news reader gave a number people could call if they had any kind of information.
Sam walked out of the snack bar and conjured his phone. He quickly dialed Dean’s number.
“Hello?”
“Dean, Zoey escaped” Sam said fast.
“What? I thought she was dead” Dean said disbelieving.
“Apparently not” Sam said. “Lock your door. Don’t let anyone in”
“I wasn’t going to” Dean said and Sam heard him lock the door.

“Daphne? It’s time to let me go” Martin said soft.
Daphne lifted her head and stared at him with wet and bloodshot eyes. “How? I can’t”
“It’s time for me to move on” Martin said. “I’ve been wandering around for too long. I’m done here. If I stay much longer, I could turn into a vengeful spirit”
Daphne shook her head. “I don’t believe that”
“You didn’t believe I would show up in the first place, either” Martin pointed out.
Daphne pulled her shoulders. “How do I let you go? Aren’t you supposed to walk into the light or something?”
Martin laughed. “Not exactly. You have to salt and burn my bones”
“So I need to go to the cemetery?” Daphne asked.
“No. That grave is empty” Martin said bitter.
“Then where are your bones?” Daphne asked nervous.
“You’re standing on them” Martin answered.

The waitress walked through the back door. She was taking a break. She felt two eyes on her and looked aside.
Cas was staring at her.
“Hi” she said. She walked to him. “You were acting strange earlier”
“I’m sorry” Cas mumbled. “You remind me of someone”
“Your girlfriend?” the waitress guessed.
Cas shook his head. “She wasn’t my girlfriend. She was my…”
“Sex buddy” the waitress helped. “I’m Lucy”
“I’m Cas” Cas said.
“Cas?” Lucy said intrigued. “That’s an uncommon name” She came closer to him and took his collar. She dragged him into one of the toilets and locked the door. She threw her arms around his neck and jumped in his arms. She kissed him and Cas forced her against the wall.
“Aaaahhh!” she exclaimed. She pushed Cas away and looked at him terrified.
“I’m sorry” Cas mumbled concerned.
“It’s okay” Lucy said, but Cas unlocked the door and ran away.
