He acknowledges that he'll probably never be able to make up for what he did in the Tower of Heaven, but he tries anyway. It would be a different story had people shipped Erza with an unredeemed Jellal, but this is clearly not the case. Also, he's not Erza's "murderer", because he didn't murder her. Attempted to, yeah, but it didn't actually happen. Simon's murder has been the one thing that's been shown to haunt him years later. It was not brushed off by the narrative. Furthermore, Erza loves him. Sorry, she's not gonna end up with Gray, no matter how hard you wish for her to. posted over a year ago.
