Maine Wesley, Wes for short, is the main character and lives in New York City. He's a piano player and discovers that his long-time girlfriend Erin had been cheating on him for the last two years. His only friend and family is his piano.
Well, until he takes a stroll through New York City and is interrupted by a beautiful voice. It leads him to Viola Burns, a thin girl living on the streets ever since she was disowned by her parents after breaking up with her abusive boyfriend. Wes discovers her only outlet is music, and takes her in until she can find a place to stay.
