Fun fact I just learnt from looking this up on wiki:

"Meghan" was originally the Welsh pet form of "Meg" or "Meggie", which is itself a short form of "Margaret"

So margaritēs (Greek for "pearl") --> Margaret --> Meg (a pet form) --> Meghan (a pet form of the pet form? until it became a name in its own right)
