Vampire Diaries; Chapter 1.
Oranges and browns. Browns and oranges.
I couldn't help but laugh as I fell into the big pile of orange and brown. The oranges crunched and the browns perished into smaller browns.
"Enjoying yourself?" Bridgette asked. I rolled my eyes and she helped me out of the leaves. Fall was hitting Vancouver quickly. Rain was becoming more predictable and the winds were getting icy by the minute. Something that always bothered me was that I never changed. I would just be a plain pigeon in a flock in flamingos.
Bridgette and I started to continue our walk to Bathory Highschool. The most unpleasant place in the world. I couldve sworn I saw Mrs. Zhame turn into a bat one morning. But that probably was my imagination running wild.
"You know I don't mind Bathory being..." I cringed. "Bathory... But, I feel like I'm going to school with a bunch of vampires and goths."
Bridgette laughed. "You have been reading too much Twilight. Don't you see what those books do to you?"
I sighed and nodded. Maybe I did need a break from the vampire world. Maybe that's why I was always so plain and boring. I was too caught up in the romance of Edward and Bella that I didn't give the slightest attention to my own personal life.
"But, still..." I started.
"Courtney, quit it. I don't want to hear anything about vampires anymore."
"Fine."
I shifted uncomfortably in my assigned chair. My pencil was tapping rapidly against the wooden desk of mine.
"Miss. Willow... Would you please quiet down?" Mrs. Zhame cocked her eyebrow and gave me a dark look. I sighed and nodded slowly. I couldn't just sit here. I needed to actually move.
I snapped and tore a piece of white paper out of my notebook and scribbled down a random doodle.
"Knock knock!" Mr. John walked in smiling. Even though I could see his smile was nevertheless fake.
"Mr. John.... What brings you here?" Mrs. Zhame turned a light shade of Red. Her feelings for Mr. John becoming more obvious.
"I'd like to introduce a new student." He gleamed.
"Go ahead." She winked and started to apply a coat of lipstick.
I grimaced and couldn't take much more of her desperate callings for love.
"Alright, Duncan.. Come in."
Butterflies invaded my stomach as I saw the new guy walk in. He was about 5'7. A little taller than me. His Black hair was magnificent. It covered about three quarter inches of his right eye. Small pecks of Green highlighted his hair. He wore a coal leather jacket and a white button up shirt. Also a pair Ripped jeans and Black combat boots.
"This is Duncan Salvatore."
Our eyes locked. Onyx and Blue. Blue and Onyx. But hid star seemed a little hostile.
"Duncan you may sit next to..." Mr. John trailed on; trying to look for a seat. I raised my hand and smiled lightly. "He can sit next to me." I remarked.
"Ah, well. Thank you, Miss. Willow."
Duncan trudged up to a seat next to me. He looked paler from up close than he did from in front of the class.
"Um, hi. I'm Cour—" I started.
"Dont talk." Duncan growled.
