Courtney's P.O.V
I was shaking hard, The blade only a inch from my wrist. Everything just perished into thin cold air ever since HE left me. "Hush little baby... Don't say a word.... Momma's gonna buy you a mocking bird..." I whispered.
When he left me, I was pregnant with our child. A boy, a wonderful little blue eyed boy with Duncan's palid skin, and my brown hair.
"If that mocking bird don't sing..." I sang quietly.
I was pulled into labor that night he left, But Jessie didn't live long. Jessie was the name I was in love with, I said everyday,"Duncan, If we ever have a baby boy, Lets name him Jessie." Those words stained the very middle of my throat.
The blade finally reached my wrist making a huge gash of blood appear. The blood trickled down the side of my arm. I winced.
"C.. Courtney?" A light voice quivered. My head shot up to see my mother's widened onyx eyes staring down at my massacred wrist.
"Courtney!" She ran over to me and grabbed my hand, Pulling me out of my room and into the kitchen. "Courtney! How can you be so foolish!" She scolded. She grabbed a bandage and wrapped it firmly around my wrist.
"I..I'm sorry..." I managed to choke out.
She shook her head in dissapointment.
Later that night I walked down the halls to the kitchen and opened the fridge. But, I stopped when I heard my mother crying.
"James, I don't know what to do! She's... She's going crazy! Ever since Duncan left!" I heard my father coo her silently and try to relax her.
My heart ached, I was hurting myself and my parents. I felt my eyes water but raised my wrmto wipe the tears away quickly. I dropped the milk into the fridge not feeling thirsty anymore.
I walked slowly back to my room and closed the door quietly not wanting to disturb anyone.
I climbed into my bed and wrapped myself in my blanket. I vowed I would try to make myself more better... More better for my parents...

(TDI, TDA and TDWT never happened)
I was toppled over by scrapbooks, ribbons, medals and a big canvas bag when I opened the closet door. What really caught my eye was the huge canvas sack that almost pulverized my leg. I wrenched myself out and pulled the bag over to my bed. I dug out my little sister's, Cookie's (her real name is Charlise), little plastic "Sheriff" badge and giggled. I placed it down and pulled out an unopened letter that I never have seen before. I opened and read it:
Dear Miss Courtney Langerak,
Thank you for help saving our ranch from MorcuCorp! We really appreciate your concern for all of the horses and the ranch. You are welcome to come here anytime!
From,
Vickie
Barry
Duncan
and the rest of Carousel Ranch!
I ran my fingers over the printed words, especially Duncan's. There was a picture in the envelope of me and Duncan. I now remember how we helped Carousel Ranch like it was yesterday...

"You promise to do the forfeit?" Duncan asked.
"For the final time, yes!" Courtney cried, exasperated.
"Ok, right. Your forfeit is to pla-" Danni began.
"To play strip poker" Duncan interrupted his younger sister.
"What?!" Courtney asked in disbelief, "but i dont know how!"
"I'll explain the rules" Samantha said excitedly.
'Damn! I was gonna pretend i didn't know so i wouldn't have to do the stupid dare!' Courtney thought.
*5 mins later and Samantha had explained the rules*

"How could you do this to me?" Brandon said, still in a state of shock. "How could you do this to Duncan?" Court shot back, tears running down her cheeks, mascara all messed up. "I didn't know you cared about him" Brandon said pointing at Duncan snoozing peacefully. "Well i do" Courtney admitted. Rage suddenly flickered in Brandon's eye's and he grabbed onto her arm with a firm grip. "Let. Go!" Courtney struggled. "LET GO OF HER!" Duncan yelled. "Or what?" Brandon said furiously, "Or..." Duncan said
"You can come down princess" i shouted upstairs, "Dont call me that" She said, she ruined any effect of seriousness by smirking as she handed me a card & a box, i gave her a kiss on the lips "Thank you. I have a surprise for you. Close your eye's" i told her and she did. I led her through to the kitchen where i'd set up her 'Valentines Day Special' breakfast. Pancakes in the shape of heart with syrup spelling dXc, 12 roses at the side, the little box next to my plate. I sat her down & she opened her eye's.
