I ran,but Duncan came after me.
"Where are you going?"
He asked me full of worry.
"Gwen's."
I replied in haste.
"DON'T PUNCH HER AGAIN!"
Duncan yelled frantically.
"I'm not going to,she's pregnant,and I need to come help." "She's PREGNANT?"
I nodded my head.
"I better come..."
"No.She'll think that I'm being....territorial.I'll handle this by myself."
I kissed Duncan,and left quickly hopping into my car.I drove faster than ever before,(Speeding by accident.Oops.)and running to her doorstep as fast as I could.
"COURTNEY!You came!You really came!"She hugged me and pulled me inside on her couch.
"Are you okay Gwen?What happened?"
I asked full of concern.
"Well,before Trent and I broke up,well....you know...."
She beckoned,continuing.
"And now,I don't know what to do!I think I should tell Trent,but the way things went down I don't know if I should tell him or not!And I'm sorry about how I've been with Duncan lately,but my hormones are crazy!"
Gwen cried into my lap,and I stroked her hair.
"Okay.What I'm going to do is help you relax.I'll call up the others,Heather,Lindsay,LeShawna,Izzy,Katie and Sadie,etc,and since we all live close by,we'll have them bring whatever they want,and you can spill the whole thing over mani's,pedi's,and of course,movies.In fact,we could get the boys over too and make it entertaining!"
I suggested to her.
"That would be nice.Thank you Courtney."
Gwen and I hugged,and I walked into the bathroom as I called everyone.I dialed up Duncan too,but I knew he and I couldn't get too lovey dovey because Gwen would feel bad.
"Hello?"
Duncan gloomily answered the phone.
"Hey honey.I need you to call all the guys,and tell them to come to Gwen's.We need to cheer her up."
"Okay.Love you princess."
"Love you too.Bye-bye."
I called all of the girls and told them to come over.Everyone came in less than two minutes,bringing anything they could to cheer Gwen up.
"Hi Gwen!"
Owen ran up and hugged us.
"I brought candy!And chips and-"
"Thanks Owen!I need this."
Gwen and I said in unison,grabbing things out of the basket.
Owen watched us sadly.
"You can have some too,but remember,we're pregnant and hungry!"
I exclaimed.
Owen sat next to us and DJ,Noah,Heather,Abelle,and Cody came in.
"Hi everyone!I bought gormet food!"
DJ said making Owen drool.
"I brought video games!"
Cody said.
"I brought awesome Mad Libs!"
Noah added hugging Heather.
They sat down next to us,and Duncan came through the door.
"Hi princess."
He said to me knowing that we couldn't look too in love.
"Hi doc."
I replied happily.
"I brought horror movies!"
He added sitting next to Gwen with a smile.He patted her stomach.
"Two pregnant women under on roof?Things might get a little violent."
We all laughed.and Katie,Sadie,Beth and Lindsay came in.
"Hi!I brought friendship bracelets!"
Beth said running over to hug us.
"We brought beads!"
Katie and Sadie exclaimed together.
"And I brought spa products!And Duncan honey,you need it.Your skin is flaking."
Lindsay said rubbing something on his face.
"Lindsay why?"
Everyone else came,and we all sat on Gwen's incredibly huge couch.Even Harold was there,because he decided that this was important enough to fly out for.He even decided to move out later in the year!Everyone was watching Alien Chunks,and And I made friendship bracelets with Beth,as Lindsay still worked on Duncan.Izzy painted Gwen's nails,Katie and Sadie were making special popcorn,Cody sat next to Gwen and comforted her,Geoff and Bridgette were oddling get along while playing cards,and Owen of course was eating.I glanced over to see LeShawna and Harold snuggling under a blanket.Duncan suddenly walked over to me,his face caked with a green herbal mask.
"Will you still love me like this?"
He asked without a laugh I was almost certain I would hear.
"Well of course."
I kissed his lips,the only part of his face not caked with facial cream.He smiled,and Lindsay pulled him away to scrape off the mask.He came back over and I commented on his skin;
"Babe you're glowing!"
Duncan looked furiously at me as I laughed.I kissed his face multiple times.
"I'm sorry."
I said with a little smile.
Suddenly Lindsay grabbed my face.
"Ooh hon.What pregnancy has done to you!You haven't been getting good sleep have you?"
Lindsay pulled me away from Beth and Duncan,and I sat on the couch next to Lindsay as she added a honey green tea mask to my face.I looked down and saw Beth helping Duncan to make a bracelet.I was now sitting next to Heather and Abelle who was now six years old.
"Hi Courtney!"
She said to me.
"Well hi Abelle!How are you?"
I asked her noticing she had a facial mask on her face also.
"Well....I'm fine.But this thing is a little sticky."
Abelle replied pointing to her mask.
"Yeah I know.Lindsay just creeps up and gets you doesn't she?"
Abelle nodded in agreement.
Then I suddenly felt a twisting knot in my stomach.
"Duncan go get me a Snickers bar."
I demanded.
"No need!"
Owen handed me a pre-opened candy bar.
"Thanks Owen."
I mumbled scarfing down the candy bar with tremendous speed.Everyone stared.
"What?I'm pregnant here people!You do things like this when that happens."
Everyone agreed,and got back to what they were doing.Lindsay came over and talked to me as she applied a new mask to my face.
"So,by the way,in about.....eight months,Gucci,Dolce and Gabbana,Armani and Prada are doing a education seminar,and they invited us.This is a big thing,and if you don't go,they'll be extremely insulted."
"Eight months?But I'm due November 11,and that's around the same time as the baby will come!But,oh well.
I replied avoiding scratching my face.I felt a sticky liquid pour on my face.
"Um,what are you putting on my face?"
I asked worriedly.
"Egg yolk,sage and lavender herb mix,and mud.The good kind."
I sighed and said only;
"You're the expert."
I sat there with the mask on for fourteen minutes,and Katie and Sadie brought out the huge tub of popcorn.Duncan watched me sit tolerently on the couch,stifling laughter.Some of us had already fallen asleep,but I had a busy day tommorow,meaning I had to go soon.Gwen looked okay,snuggling with Cody.I decided as Lindsay finished my facial and mani,I would have to go.
"Duncan,I think we have to go.We have a busy day tommorow."
Duncan had bracelets up and down his arms and legs.Probably hundreds.
"It's so heavy....I don't think I can walk..."I went over and hugged Gwen as Duncan slowly rose from his seat.
"Bye Gwen.Have a good night."
"Thank's Courtney.I owe you one."
Duncan hugged her too,and we walked out of the door.
