To be honest, there are MANY underrated Disney movies. The ones that we see in the stores, and commercials, and pop culture the most are the films that are in the Disney Vault (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King). Tangled will probably join that group in a few years, and even some if the earlier films in that group aren't talked about as often. It's not like these films are the only successful films (They only ever had a few flops), but these films are the easiest to market. In the Renaissance, Pocahontas-Tarzan is pretty much ignored in Disney, the films Post-Jungle Book to Pre-Little Mermaid are rarely mentioned (some people don't even know these films are Disney), and the films Post-Tarzan to Pre-PATF are Jon-existent to Disney (with the exception on The Emperor's New Groove and Lilo and Stitch). Out of Pixar, I definitely have to say A Bugs Life. This film was a hit when it was released, and was a good follow up hit after Toy Story, but as Pixar made more movies that made more money, A Bugs Life was overshadowed.
