The reason I picked Merida is because I think she is the least talked about princess on this spot and when I do see her talked about, it's not usually very fondly. So I thought she would be a good choice to open up some discourse about!

I personally love Merida, she's by far and away my favorite of the revival princesses, I think she would be my favorite princess had I not grown up with the Renaissance girls. I really love her. (And when I say grown up, I mean like, since I was 16.) I may love her more than Mulan.

For Disney princess of the month, it would really help of people would help me make the polls during the course of the month! Also, I am sorry for doing this a day early, but I have a 7am flight tomorrow and then I go to work so I don't think I'll have time to make it tomorrow.

Exciting! I've never been around for PoTM so I'm looking forward to Merida's turn.

I love Merida. I've only seen Brave once but she made a great impression on me. She deserves POTM for sure.

It makes me feel good. I don't have her in my top 5, she's sixth. But I still adore her so much and I'm crestfallen as I came to know she is hated so much. Yea, she is selfish, she's spoilt, she's ruthless.......but I love her for that! Her flaws make her more human like. She deserves POTM , not so much insult. Most princesses have some issues. I mean, sacrificing your dreams and waiting for a guy and putting the needs before others is horrible. I'm sparing the classic princesses (1937-1959) as the view of society was much different then. But after it? Will the sexism and toxic rule of woman continue? They should not make girls like this. More stronger role models we want. many people say Merida isn't selfless. That's incorrect, and non-feminism is very sexist attitude. What's the difference between girl and a boy, a girl can pursue her dreams and stand stronger. Woman have the right to, I'm happy Merida's story was not one for opressing women and encouraging loveless marriage, but of girl power and that self-care's important. But Merida breaks those gender discrimination rules and archaic traditions, I like her very much
