Too late now. They've made their adaptation within the Disney Animated Canon official lineup, which basically means they'd have to do a live-action version if they made another.

Considering their live action versions of classic fairy tales they've already made adaptations to (like Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, Snow White, Maleficent, etc), and those were just adaptations of the animated film instead of the story it was based on, I'd rather they didn't.

I don'treally care either way. It would be nice if they did it, but if they didn't, I'd be fine. Also, like Tygers_Eye said, they have already made their adaption to it.

^ Frozen was NOTHING like The Snow Queen. It may be a good quality film, but it's not a faithful adaptation. The question is whether we think Disney should make another film that's more faithful to the source material, since Frozen isn't.

As much as I would like one, I know Disney isn't going to make another animated "adaptation" of The Snow Queen since they already made Frozen, and their live-action movies aren't as good. What's more, once Disney has made an animated adaptation of a fairy tale, all future live-action remakes only draw from the Disney movie and not the fairy tale it's based on.

(Example: MALEFICENT, which doesn't even pretend it's anything but a retelling of DISNEY'S Sleeping Beauty. Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, which only uses the Disney version of all the book characters, with only the White Queen and Knave of Hearts added. And Once Upon a Time, which only uses the Disney version off all the "timeless storybook characters.")

Instead of Disney themselves, why not Miyazaki? They're part of Disney. Sorry, but they totally botched up a great fairy tale that gave them SO much to work with for no good reason.

The Frozen gravy train is still going strong so it will be a long time before someone thinks of doing another adaptation. IF they decided to do another version it would either have to be live or just be distributed by Disney (maybe a Pixar version of the Snow Queen!!), otherwise, inevitable comparisons to Frozen will be made. I doubt they will do this since Disney is already making a ton of money off the Frozen franchise and with a potential sequel (you know it's coming) I doubt they will divert their resources to a different version. Still, it would be nice, though.

Why not? Disney made two adaptions of Treasure Island.
