They are neither a princess or the protagonist in their movies. The reason why Pocahontas and Mulan are princesses over these two are because the movies Pocahontas and Mulan were more popular and well known that Hunchback or Hercules. If they have not added them at this point, than they never will. I like both more than many other princesses though
^Exactly. If you aren't a princess, you have to be the protagonist. And they just wouldn't fit (Esmeralda would more than Meg.) I would like it if they were, but they don't fit in the lineup.
What they all said, besides, I think it's too late to add them. However, it would be nice to see some merchandise of them, not as DP, but just as Disney characters.
They just wouldn't fit. On the other hand, Disney really should pay more attention to their non DP movies, set aside some of the Pixar films *cough*Cars*cough* which have plenty of attention already.
NO! People have to understand the criteria. Neither of them meet it! Mulan does! Even if Merida doesn't either, it's too late to add them to the line up. After like 17 years adding them would be too sudden. Merida's movie just came out a few months ago. Like I said, they shouldn't be in because:
1. They don't meet the criteria, while all of the others do
I know esmeralda sings, she has a love interest and all that but she is not technically a princess. Wait! Before you start telling me about mulan, mulan is the main character of her movie but isn't a real princess. She is like the star of the whole thing. If you are not a real princess, you have to be the main character of your movie.
And for meg, she sings, she has a love interest, she is old enough. But many people say, technically she is a princess for marrying herc. nope, she is higher than a princess once she married a god. It would be stupid to add someone higher than royalty in the princess line up. Then the lineup would be really unbalanced and we would have one goddess and the rest being princesses
2. I know Merida doesn't meet the criteria either, but her movie came out recently. It would be stupid to just all of the sudden shove meg and Esmeralda into the lineup after seventeen years.
Don't you think? That's just dumb to all of the sudden add them. It's been too long it just wouldn't be right.
