She's gentle, classy, obedient, respectful of authority, and best of all, she gave up desire for duty. No other princess has done that or anything quite as unselfish. She is SO underrated.

She hasn't really done much but wait for a prince to come save her

She shows some grace and charm... one of the lowest role models in my opinion, but still a positive role model nonetheless. Plus, she followed orders and went to the castle, which shows a lot of selflessness.

I hate this "damsel in distress, waiting for a Prince" nonsense that people continuously spew out regarding Aurora. It's not like she got herself into bad situations through her own stupidity - she was hypnotized/in a trance when she touched the spindle (thus leading Prince Phillip to save her). I just don't see how that makes her any less of a role model.

She found out her whole life was a lie, yet still manages to have the emotional strength to rule a whole kingdom at the end of the movie. I'd say she's a role model, albeit not a huge one.

I am trying to understand if you guys are being serious. What the heck did she do that makes her a role model. I understand Snow White who I don't particularly care for but aurora? You've gotta be kidding. The thing is, maybe she is patient, but that really wasn't her point. She just ended up being a patient girl. Maybe now that I think of it, a little, but that just isn't really the thing we were supposed to focus in on about her. That is just something minor within her so called personality that doesn't even matter or stand out. And since when was patient a characteristic of aurora. She kept crying when she found out she couldn't be with Phillip. I am not saying that isn't normal or it is stupid but where is the patience. It kind of get's lost in her personality. The real way to portray patience is to show many tragic things happening to someone and no matter what they don't overreact and try to make the best like Cinderella. The real definition of patience. For aurora is it's a no. Sorry but patience got lost somewhere in the wild
