And they lived happily ever after...
And they lived happily ever after...

I did this countdown almost a year ago, but since we have a new Princess movie, I wanted to update it. Each ending is sweet and unique and its own way, whether its wedding bells, dancing on a cloud, a tearful goodbye, or someone's lifelong dream coming true. I watched each ending before writing this, and I thought others might want to watch them as well, so I posted links to each films ending. Here we go...

10. The Princess and the Frog
♪Dreams do come true when you believe♪
♪Dreams do come true when you believe♪

At the end of Tiana's story, she and Naveen decide to remain frogs in order to be together. They are married in the bayou by Mama Odie, and when they kiss they magically transform back into humans. They have another wedding ceremony, and then begin to remodel an old sugar mill into Tiana's dream restaurant. It's a happy ending, but it seems to lack fairy tale-ness.

"Meh, this one is not very satisfying to me for an ending. The whole ending was too rushed for me." -ppgbelle4

"It felt rushed, passionless and not fairytale enough. However despite it being my least favourite ending, it is however my favourite part of the film, which doesn't say a lot about my overall opinion of PATF." -disney_prince

"Yeah, it I also thought the ending was a bit rushed. And then there's that thing she wears at the end." -VGfan30

9. Pocahontas
I'll always be with you, forever.
I'll always be with you, forever.

I was a little shocked that this ending made it so low on the countdown. Personally, it's one of my favorites...it's dramatic and bittersweet, and completely different from the other endings. Pocahontas is the only Princess that doesn't get her happy ending. After John Smith steps in front of a bullet to save Pocahontas' Father, he must return to England in order to survive. He asks Pocahontas to come with him, but she decides to stay in order to keep the peace between the settlers and her people. They share one last passionate embrace, and his ship sets sail. Pocahontas races through the woods to her famous cliff and watches as her lover leaves her. The wind rushes up from behind her making her hair flow beautifully as she gazes at the horizon.

"Aww,Pocahontas:/ That ending is soo beautiful and touching." -tiffany88

"She should've went with him!!! Lol the Pocahontas one made me angry." -bubbles4u22

"Pocahontas ending is the most epic Disney ever! The hair blowing in the wind, the music, the sadness, THE HAIR BLWOING IN THE WIND! Actually, it might be the best ending Ive ever seen! How can it be losing? Maybe it´s just me who love´s sad endings..." -JonnaSe

"Honestly I'm all for happy endings, but that Pocahontas scene is freakin' amazing." -Mongoose09

8. Sleeping Beauty
♪You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream♪
♪You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream♪

The film itself may be a piece of art...but for most of us it's booooring, and even though it has a classic ending, where they live happily ever after, it just doesn't quite stand out like some of the others. After Prince Phillip defeats...wait, let me rephrase that...after the FAIRIES defeat Maleficent, with a little help from Prince Phillip, he climbs the steps in the castles highest tower, to find his true love in a deep slumber. He gently kisses her, and BOOM! She's awake. The film ends with her meeting her parents, and doing what she does best; dancing and looking gorgeous while doing so. The film comes to an end with Flora and Merryweather bickering AGAIN of the color of her dress. Make it pink, make it blue, make it pink, make it bl...hey girls...here's a thought; make a freaking compromise and make it it purple. Sheesh.

"It's boring even though I still enjoy it." -disneyfan500

"Aurora never spoke again in the end. The fairies dominated the scene." -LightningRed

"it is boring after Phillip kills Malifecent." -ppgbelle4

7. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
♪Some day when spring is here, we'll find our love anew. And the birds will sing! And wedding bells will ring! Some day when my dreams come true!♪
♪Some day when spring is here, we'll find our love anew. And the birds will sing! And wedding bells will ring! Some day when my dreams come true!♪

It pains me to see this come in so low on our countdown. I think it has one of the sweetest, and happiest endings. Every single time I watch it, I cry...I know, I'm a pansy. I obviously know how it ends, but seeing the Dwarfs so sad because their beloved Princess is dead just breaks my heart. Even the Prince breaks my heart...kissing her lips, and then hanging his head down...tears. Then when she opens her eyes, and sits up, everyone around her lights up again and is blissfully happy. It's the perfect ending to such a classic movie and fairy tale!

"NO NOT SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS IT'S IN MY TOP 3!" - KataraLover

"I was going to say the same thing like you KataraLover it even happens to be my favorite ending." -Sweetie-94

"How can Snow White´s ending be on the first place! That ending is soooo classic!!" - alexon31

6. Mulan
*Chickens*
*Chickens*

This movie practically oozes epicness and stands out from the other typcial Princess films. In my opinion, Mulan is without a doubt the most selfless Princess. The definition of selfless, is showing unselfish concern for the welfare of others...describes her perfectly, doesn't it? However, not too many people are fans of the ending of her movie...I was actually shocked to see cromulanfav, one of her biggest fans, voting this ending out from the get go. As big of an admirer as she is of Mulan, she does not like the way it ends, and I can see why. If the movie would have ended right after the scene where Mulan and her Father reunite, that would be a different story, it's what happens after that which ruins it for most people. The fact that Shang shows up and we STILL don't get any action out of him and Mulan...no kissing, no hand holding...nada. Then it ends with Mulan kissing Mushu and chickens running around the place. Seriously?
link

"The chickens ruin it." -ppgbelle4

"It really doesn´t do justice to the movie. I mean the movie has some scenes that are really epic and inspiring. The part when Mulan and her father hug each other is nice. But then Shang comes over, and they don´t even kiss! Princesses always kiss with their princes. And then Mushu and the chickens, nah not really that good compared to how good the movie is." -alexon31

"You know, chickens, and true to your heart. It kind of ruins previous moments"- cromulanfav

"IT's chickens. CHICKENS!!" -princesslullaby

5. Aladdin
"Made ya look!"
"Made ya look!"

The movie Aladdin has a very happy ending. The villain is defeated, the Genie is set free, and the Sultan changes the law so that Jasmine can marry whoever she wants. Fireworks light up the sky as our two crazy lovebirds sing to each other and share a sweet kiss, and they fly off, and then...*sighs*. The Genie. He pops out of no where, and spoils the ending for most people. As a kid, I liked how it ended. I thought it was funny how he suddenly appeared and said "made ya look". But now that I'm older, it does kind of ruin the magical, romantic ending.
link

"Everytime I see the ending of Aladdin, I want to slap the Genie in the face for ruining the ending for me."- VGfan30

"Genie, you're cool. But you completely RUINED IT!!!!!"- Mongoose09

"I love the Aladdin ending...haha...its my favorite, I think it wouldn't suit it to have that typical romantic ending..."- princesslullaby

4. Tangled
"But I know what the big question is? Did Rapunzel and I ever get married? Well I am happy to say after years and years of asking, I finally said yes."
"But I know what the big question is? Did Rapunzel and I ever get married? Well I am happy to say after years and years of asking, I finally said yes."

The end of Tangled is one of my favorites. It's shocking, dramatic, sad, and happy all rolled into one. Rapunzel is willing to give up her freedom in order to save Fylnn's life, but before she is able to save him, he chops all of her hair off, making it impossible to save his life. Even though I sort of saw it coming, I gasped SO loud the first time I saw this movie. Mother Gothel falls to her death, and Rapunzel weeps over Flynn's dead body. Apparently she had a little bit of magic left in her, because he comes back to life, and delivers one of my favorite lines from the movie..."Did I ever tell you I've got a thing for brunettes?". Rapunzel is reunited with her parents, and everyone is happy.
link

"They din´t show Rapunzel getting married either, I like the Tangled ending, the only thing I´m not so crazy about its the weird old guy at the end tied to the lanterns..." -alexon31

"The stupid drunk idiot ruined it besides what's so special about this ending." -KataraLover

3. Cinderella
"But you see...I have the other slipper."
"But you see...I have the other slipper."

The end of Cinderella always makes me smile. Lady Tremaine does everything in her power to ruin Cinderella's happiness. She locks her in her room once she discovers that Cinderella is the girl the Prince wants to marry. After Cinderella's animal friends come to her rescue and free her, she trips the man carrying the glass slipper, making it break in the process. She gives that wicked grin she is so famous for, knowing that she has won. Then Cinderella whips out the other slipper...the look on her face is PRICELESS. She didn't see that one coming! The Duke puts the slipper on her tiny foot, and it is a perfect fit! Wedding bells ring as Cinderella and Prince Charming descend the stairs. They get into the carriage and share a sweet kiss. And they lived happily ever after.
link

"This ending is memorable, sweet, and a classic." -sunnyson

"Anyway, yeah, this ending is classic, but it is not as heartwarming as the other two." -ppgbelle4

2. Beauty and the Beast
"It IS you!"
"It IS you!"

Face it...this ending is epic. The scene, the dialog, the score...it leaves you with chillbumps. I love Belle in this scene. She is totally vulnerable, letting all of her emotions show. I cry everytime I watch her weep over the Beasts lifeless body. She is completely heartbroken. Then his body rises, and he transforms. Belle realizes that it is the Beast...just with less hair and a feminine voice (I MUCH prefer his raspy "Beast" voice). The castle and it's inhabitants transform back to their previous forms, and everyone is happy.
link

"BatB ending just makes my cry with emotion..." -alexon31

"Though these aren't my favourite endings, I love BATB's ending!! It's soo sweet and touching, and I DO love TLM's ending, and love that Ariel's dream was completed, it wasn't as touching as BATB's. Most likely because of the scene with Chef Louie and Sebastian. I hate Chef Louie." -SnowSpirit

"I like how in B&tB, ends with the stained glass window." -kenzieiscool

1. The Little Mermaid
"I love you Daddy."
"I love you Daddy."

I freaking LOVE the end of this movie. It makes me smile so big it makes my face hurt. Ariel's dream of being a human comes true; her Father transforms her, even though it means he will probably never see her again, or at least not get to see her as often. She rises out of the water in one of the prettiest outfits and runs into Erics arms. He twirls her around and they kiss...lucky girl. I'd give just about ANYTHING to lock lips with that smoking hottie, and I know I'm not alone here ;) Eric and Ariel are married, and she wears the stereotypical 80's dress...big and poofy...gotta love the 80's!
link

"Watched both clips on youtube, BATB is touching, but TLM left me grinning ear to ear." -princesslullaby

"This ending touches my heart so much more and has me bawling at the end. Long rant ahead...watch out! XD I literally cry from joy at this ending because of Ariel herself. I find myself connecting to her so much more because of her determination and how she never gives up. Despite her situation looking grim after she learned about Vanessa's wedding with Eric, and her learning the truth about Ursula, Ariel still keeps on fighting; she dives right into the water fighting, despite having sacrificed everything. When she comes out of the water in her blue dress, it makes me cry because she overwhelmed her odds and achieved her happy ending. Ariel has taught me so much, and with this she shows me that you can achieve anything, as long as you have the determination and will to do it. :') BatB...it's almost hypocritical to me. Right after the Beast dies, it is like sour grapes. We fall in love with Beast for the flawed being he is, his tortured soul, and he grows and changes as he makes the transformation from beast to man. Then at the transformation, all of that is gone. We see the Beast learn his lesson, most definitely, but Belle just gets her happily ended neatly wrapped and given to her in a nicely wrapped package. Having the Beast as a human at the end actually weakens the lesson she learns: don't judge a book by its cover. It would've been so much more powerful to me if the Beast DIDN'T turn back to normal but stayed alive, and Belle marries him despite how hideous he looks, because then we could clearly see that Belle really loves him for his heart. It hurt me to type that, but this is true." -ppgbelle4
