I was thinking about it today, and I realized that my favorite princess was either Snow White or Cinderella. Why? Because Snow White and Cinderella are both utterly oblivious. Snow, even after almost being killed, still keeps a cheery attitude. She seems to almost forget that The Queen is trying to slaughter her. It's like Snow White doesn't think about anything that's not in front of her very eyes. She remains mindlessly happy while dressed in rags and forced to act as a servant.
Cinderella, on the other hand, is a little less oblivious. Okay, a whole lot less. But still, she only ever gets sad when something really bad happens. Otherwise, she just sort of listens to whatever the step mother or sisters say. She doesn't bother running away or struggling. She just does.
Also, they're both totally ditsy. Cinderella has that moment where she's just dancing and singing to herself. She forgets that the step mother is watching her, and is probably figuring out she's the mystery girl. She acts like she's high most of the time. So does Snow White. I think they might be on some kind of happy juice. They're always in a daze of some kind. Like the way Cinderella sees her reflection in a bunch of multicolored bubbles while singing harmonies with herself. She seems so burnt out.
Now I'm not saying that the characters actually took drugs in the story. That'd be a silly, stupid idea. I'm just saying they act like it. I think I just love how the both of them are always in LaLa land. They're never really there. They're so vague.
Ariel or Belle probably would've taken more action. They would be rebellious and try to fight more. Snow White and Cinderella would rather roam around singing songs to themselves. They just go with the flow.
