Disney Princess Article: Is Kristoff just reused concept art?

Ok, I was looking through concept art for Tangled when I found this. It's the original Flynn - who was blond and broad shouldered - the complete opposite of what he ended up.

However, Kristoff is blond and broad shouldered and he has a big nose. He looks a lot like the guy in the picture.

Interestingly, all this had led me to believe that Kristoff is a recycled version of Flynn! I may be wrong, but I find my evidence pretty compelling.

What do you guys think? Do you think the resemblance is strong, or do you think it's a coincidence.

disneygirl7 Uh, he wasn't "reused" the animators say they based Kristoff off of Flynn's original design.

prussiaducky I think the original design is too good to waste, but Flynn and Kristoff are honestly nothing alike, so I wouldn't use the word "reuse" since they have no similarities whatsoever

Shiki_Otherside I heard what disneygirl7 said, and I heard that Flynn was originally going to be grumpy and stubborn similar to what they made Kristoff.

Lanalamprouge by reused i think she meant that they both had the same begginings. just because it was formally announced that they were going to use the flynn concepts doesn't take away from the fact that they did use the concepts a second time as a starting place for kristoff... though the title is a bit misleading. but cool tidbit of info for me! er. i hope that didn't sound meanish i just kinda want to say that i kinda get where the title came from

Annabethandco Your right Lanalamprogue. I was in no way that saying Kristoff and Flynn are the same in terms of personality. I was talking purely about the concept.

Tygers_Eye Well, I said in my Frozen review that I personally feel most Frozen characters are recycled Tangle archetypes and plot points (Anna is Rapunzel, Elsa is an older version of Anna with powers she feels she has to hide the way Rapunzel felt she had to hide her powers, Kristoff is Flynn, his plot about guiding the sheltered Anna through the wilderness is Flynn's plot of guiding Rapunzel.) I've said before I think Kristoff is a re-hash of Flynn (jaded, worldly, snarky, misanthropic guy guiding and falling in love with the sweet, cute, naïve, sheltered, all-loving girl) so I wouldn't be surprised if they used old concept art or a previously abandoned character design.

dclairmont No offense, but you didn't need to make an article for this. You could've asked this in the "Answers" section..

Annabethandco It's actually an article, as it was a written answer to a question. As you can see, this piece contains and intro and a conclusion. That makes it more of an article than a question to me.

Maurice and Tiana's parents! Both of us love IT gadgets, especially DSLR cameras, Apple products and laptops. I also want to be independent as well and I'm glad he's very supportive of Belle despite not having a motherly love for her!

My Top 3 Disney Princess Movies

Whilst typing my last article I came to realize that (Mulan being the exception) my favorite princesses were different than my favorite princess movies. That said; whilst my two favorites are Ariel and Mulan, my favorite movies are Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and Snow White.

This movie is probably my favorite Disney movie hands down. I absolutely adored the plot. I'm all for uniqueness and originality; usually in movies people are cursed into animals. So this is gonna be a kind of short quick article. But since I'm new to the spot I thought I'd kind of just let everyone know who my two favorites are and why.

Ariel

I like Ariel for a few reasons. One of which is the fact that I like her story line the best. I love the whole underwater thing and the fact that she's one of the only not human Princesses is pretty cool. I was in love with the idea of her trying to become human...and the fact that she traded her voice for legs was very unique. Her story was just a fun watch.

My Top 10 favorite Disney films

After thinking much about this I decided to put up my own personal favorites of the House of Mouse. :) After all we're all big fans of Disney, and each of us have our own favorite movies of this company, so I wanted to see if any of you guys had similar lists or the like. :)

11: Beauty and The Beast

This movie, I simply found boring. It reminds me of most movies where a girl looks inside of the man and he saves her. The end. To me, it was a very cliche modern fairy tale, one I'd probably make up as a child to tell an adult. I feel like Beauty and The Beast scores better with a younger audience than an older one, since it teaches good moral values that maybe little one's don't know but we do.
